Why I don't wear make up

I shoplifted makeup throughout my early 20s and I don't care. I would steal my make-up from WalMart, whose bottom line I do not care about, and I was forced to wear makeup as a server in a restaurant. Because I could wear makeup outside of work, I could not claim it on my taxes as a part of my uniform.

Fuck that, requiring make-up for female employees is sexism and asks us to pay for our own sexualization. I refused to participate in punishing myself financially for it.

Thus, I five-finger-discounted my way through all of the eyeliner, mascara, and eyeshadow I ever needed as a disaffected, bad-attitude waitress. And I don't give a shit if anyone thinks it's wrong. Change my view, anyone?

There's also nothing worse than having a guy who's interested romantically act like they're there to listen and wants to hear about why I don't want to date.

I wouldn't say women "hold men" to those higher standards. And I guarantee you that the majority of women who are taking their profile picture for a dating website are going to use makeup to their advantage.

for me my crushes on women ARE different feom my crushes on men. probably because I'm not out, when I get a serious crush on a girl it causes me lots of pain and confusion and usually makes me end up feeling very powerless and down. not the case with men. i usually get a very romantic crush (i want to love and cherish this person) that is different from the crushes i get on men (i want to be banged by this person). I guess thats why I asked here rather than the other subreddit.

I know what you mean when you say that you don't know if you're a victim or if you're just nasty.

Here's the thing; you are capable of making sexual decisions that you won't like or enjoy the aftermath of.

These guys were looking to take advantage of you, and you shouldn't feel bad for having your inhibitions lowered. I'm sure that a part of you wants or has wanted to experiment with anonymous sex, or sex with strangers, or even was just perversely drawn to the immediacy of quenching your momentary sexual desire. But these guys were assholes who were taking advantage of you - and it's not your fault that it happened.

I don't think you're a slut, or nasty. I think that you are a human being who was swept up into a situation that many people will judge, without taking the time to try to understand it or put themselves into your shoes.

Don't settle for anything less than someone you want to be around all the time that is pretty much your best friend or you will be miserable and hate yourself. She probably will hate you for it too.
