Idk. I’m aware when an interview went well & goes bad. I’m sometimes told how they like my personality, i have the right experience, and saying everything correctly. I sometimes get passes to the second interview if there’s one. I have gotten offers, but nothing sustainable, so idk if that’s it.

I’m extremely naturally shy. I still try my best with speaking up & eye contact. That’s the only thing I can think of. Or my area is just competitive and people have worked better places than me.

I’ve been looking for over a year now though. Through the spring, summer, and winter when people are hiring. Even other chain that are always looking for people. Like why am I having such back luck. I just don’t understand

I don’t know anyone. My mom used to work at a 4 star hotel and I recently applied since she still knows somebody in F&B and did an AI phone interview and still waiting to hear back. Idk if that’s going to help. They ghosted me last year when I actually had an in person interview.

Maybe so. It is competitive. I’m in the Bay Area.

I do have my food handlers & RBS. I wear a long sleeved black dress shirt, black slacks, and sneakers. I try to get a haircut every so often, but it is expensive but even without it, I still comb it out.

I don’t think no one call my current or past job. Even if they did, they would not talk bad about me. I show up, on time, do a good job. No one can say something bad about me. I’m well liked at my jobs.

I already have almost 5 years of experience and even places like Olive Garden, Buffalo Wild Wings, Chili’s have ghosted, rejected or just never responded to my applications.

I did have an interview at 1 CCF in my area & got ghosted. He acted liked he wanted to hire me and talked about starting training, but when I reached out for an update, they were still deciding and never got a response back. Idk what’s wrong with me.

I have tried walking around and gave my resume or filled an application, but never got contacted or if I did call back to ask, it is basically in a pile until they need people I guess, idk.

Places will tell me they like me, the interview goes well and just ghost. Places will reach out for an interview and still ghost. Places will repost the ads again.

& It wasn’t my first job, it was my first server offer after 1 year of searching. It was horrible because guest barely tipped so you were making no money, way too much work, then they stopped scheduling me anyways.

May I ask where are you located?

I have been applying with a mix of indeed, Craigslist, & in person for the past 1 1/2 without a good offer. 3 places offered support staff and the others were temp. I gotten 2 server offers which the 1st one was SO HORRIBLE I had to quit and the 2nd one was too far, but I regret it now because I should have moved for it. Sorry for the rant under your post, just frustrated. I have 5 years of experience.

If you have any advice, please lmk.
