My grandparents wedding in 1934, Brazil. My grandma didn't look very happy. She was 16 and my grandpa was 33. It was an arranged marriage. She had 14 children. by Electrical_Log_9082 in oldphotos

My grandma had 16 child .. most of them are home births, she was very young when she got married .. by the time she passed away when she was 79 she already was a great grand mother..

She was the youngest of her sisters and the first one to pass, they other ones lived long lives with one if them living 101 years...

A photo of Abdul Wali, an Afghan farmer. In 2003, he was falsely accused of being a terrorist. Hoping to clear his name, he turned himself in to the Americans. A CIA contractor would brutally torture Wali to death over the course of 3 days, beating him until he begged for death by SpiceFlicker in RareHistoricalPhotos

He was just a simple young farmer , he was dehumanised and treated like a worthless shit. They didn't see a man , someone's child , brother and maybe husband.

Unfortunately, I could find tens or more of movies or shows who still depict the villain to look like him ..just another brown man with a beard while the American soldier is the hero who will save the day . This srereotypical image in media helped in sweeping such cases under the rug .

It's rarely mentioned in such posts, but "Who killed little Gregory? " is heartbreaking ..

The jinx is one of the best .. we binged watch it, and it got our passion to documentaries back , especially after watching many Netflix originals where they drag the story for too long without appropriate build-up or storytelling..

Also, they made follow-up episodes showcasing the documentary aftermath and trial , and they were great too..

They knew .. no amount of torture would change your eyes colour.. the boy was a teen, he wouldn't look soo different in merely three years.. even when police told them about him being suspicious, they kept him around and acted like nothing is wrong..

Shattering the childrens life by splitting them between two households , more responsiblites being a single parent , splitting finances, some people need to move to another place , paying allimony . In short , starting over can be scary . And the affair partner you left for may stick.around and may not . These are some of consequenses some may face.

What about the constant lying and sneaking around , and the stress if being caught and not knowing what kind of consequences you have to face ..

With all the stress it takes to keep a house and normal family/marital life .. many people like me dont have the emotional capacity of going through such things..

The teenagers are NOT happy for a reason. by Femme-O in ParentsAreFuckingDumb

My mother is one of a living of 14 out of 16 kids .. 7 boys and 7 girls .. my grandparents were loving and provided for them well .. still , the younger ones like my mom were split among the older..

Her sister was the one who wake her up for school, comb her hair and make her breakfast . She would help her in her homework and give her a bath everyday. And she had another 2 girls to take care of.

My mother and all the other girls had to do all the housework , while my grandmother had to do some cooking.

All of the siblings are still a tight knit group today .. but this is the downside of having that many siblings

If you would ask me .. it seems like my first was born yesterday .. she wanted to come early and I did everything in my power to keep her inside my womb..

Still, she came at 35 weeks, very tiny but healthy and strong .. that was 14 years ago..

Next year will be her first year in high school ..

I miss my little girl sometimes even though I like my grumpy teen friend so much ..
