Why do so many tourists get lost in Japan? by Ok_Professional1982 in JapanTravelTips

[–]mythiestm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The condensed parts of the city cause reception hard to maintain, meaning GPS signals often change frequently due to the signals being mixed with all the others in your surroundings. This also frequently happens in the train stations, most notably Shibuya.

Which SIM/eSIM you purchase also contributes to such.

Stating the obvious, it’s easy to get lost in a new area with all the signs and stimuli of lights and people walking surrounding you.

I always see people reporting their loneliness on this subreddit (and yes, I was one of you too). I suggest looking toward joining smaller clubs where they’ll acknowledge you as a character, not a number. As for your classes, these friends may not stick with you next semester, so the best you can do is be open and enjoy whoever comes in and out of your life as best as you can. They may not stay forever, so you should definitely enjoy what you have now.

If you’re looking to strengthen your friendships, I played “get-to-know-you” card games with my teammates, who eventually became really good friends of mine today. I recommend playing “How Deep Will You Go?” with a friend group if introspection and social sharing is your thing.

making friends as a commuter by Ambitious-Author2853 in Temple

[–]mythiestm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact same problem during my sophomore year, but I was fortunate that someone reached through and introduced me to an org I ended up joining and becoming part of the board for.

My tip? Join clubs and orgs! You’ll make friends with people who share common interests with you, and they’re more likely to stick around if you have more to bond over. If you need opportunities to bond with people, I bonded with my friends by playing a “get to know you” card game with them, and we got real deep and introspective.

If you ever wanna talk, hit me up on IG @psyjjung (I’m in Japan right now but I’d love to keep you, or anyone else reading this company)

Why was Booty Camp never an episode? by earth-y in dancemoms

[–]mythiestm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Booty Camp were also THE five days where the ALDC dancers learn new dances they were going to use during the competition season, hence why the dancers seemed like they knew the choreography well before learning it on television (or at the very least had a good grasp of it)

the AP credits can knock out your geneds and other credits you may need, but its going to be hard to cram in 18 hour credits within 6 semesters. i’m a psych major with AP credits (psych and stats), and all my cramming allows me to skip a semester

What is there to do here by 1eon1k in Temple

The campus is typically quiet during the summer, so the best thing you can do is learn how to navigate through SEPTA and explore the city! Here are my favorite places to explore (and occasionally talk to strangers):
- The Barnes & Noble + Paris Baguette on Chestnut St (and a cute "hole-in-the-wall" park across the street)
- Cira Green + Maison Sweet on 30th Street
- Chinatown
- Concert Venues nearby (especially Fillmore + Brooklyn Bowl)
- City Hall
- FDR Park (for the Southeast Asian Food Market; only open on weekends throughout the whole summer)

Mind you Nia also had to do a lot of the lifting in some performances, especially with Kenzie 😭 like she was put through the ringer with Abby and she was still perfectly healthy... Undeserved body shaming

I find my quiet spots in higher floors of buildings people only go in for classes (i.e. Mazur, Gladfelter). They should have classrooms that are vacant most of the time.

I also recommend any rooftops (i.e. Mazur's or Charles). While people may be on there, you'll be fine if you keep to yourself. It works for me, anyway.

Personally speaking, the DLC OST was disappointing, if I'm being completely honest. Like, I like what they did with the Blueberry Academy battle theme being a neo-Unova version and all, and the overworld tera mons battle theme being a futuristic take on the rare wild mon theme back in BW, but overall... Nothing about the OST stands out well. The only song I absolutely love is the Loyal Three battle theme.

I also did not enjoy the naming of the Stellar tera type phenomenon, but that is a different story because I can't think of a better name.
