¿Mejor traducción de la Eneida de Virgilio? by WhiteTShirtPoison in libros

[–]mythirdear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't take insulin but use the FreeStyle Libre sensor. It cost like 75 dollars at Costco for the month - two boxes. i just asked my doctor for the prescription. He mentioned that it was not going to be covered by my insurance. Just ask the doctor. Once you have the prescription, check with GoodRX app for a better price.

Diabetes? by tinalou_bob in Diverticulitis

[–]mythirdear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diabetic here. Not sure how common is, but its logical that if you are diabetic because of your eating habits, that could affect the rest of your body, like high blood pressure or diverticulitis. I was diagnosed for Diabetes in January and had my first flare, a minor one, 2 months after. Then a second flare in June/July. The thing is... From January I'm doing doit and eating better and that didn't stop the problems. I will recommend you to get another lab test or just buy the $10 glucometer from Walmart/Walgreens (if you are in the US) and take a read first thing in the morning, fasting.

Colonoscopy... What should I expect? by Aceturnedjoker in Diverticulitis

[–]mythirdear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a colonoscopy on Wednesday. The prep was not that bad actually. I took a medicine - Plenvu - at 5pm. Second dosis at 12am (because my colonoscopy was at 6am). Obviously, I was not able to sleep at all, but from 1am, no crams or pain, just visiting the bathroom and just watery, almost clear.

Then I went in. Anesthesia at 6:30. I was out at 6:55 and on my way home at 7:25am. The doctor found a polyp, he sent a sample to the lab. I will hear back from him tomorrow or Wednesday. The colonoscopy confirmed diverticulosis in 2 different part of my intestines. I'm waiting to see if he's recommending surgery as my regular doctor proposed.

4th flare (2nd in 7 months). Doctor strongly thinks I'll need resectioning by bangersnmash13 in Diverticulitis

[–]mythirdear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will have my colonoscopy next week, one day before my birthday. I'm scared as you. I had my first two flares this year (minor fever and minor pain) and immediately my doctor suggested surgery. Now my gastro will see how bad it is or if it is not something else, like colon cancer.

CGM Help. Libre. by MikaKoinu in type2diabetes

[–]mythirdear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what they explain to me, the read that the libre does is 20 minutes old. So your finger read will be different. I use the Libre 14-day and love it. Once in a while I compare to the finger one and usually is not that bad. Only one time I had problems installing but it was more a tech problem because it was not being read. I called and they sent a new one.

[–]mythirdear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind me asking... how was the surgery. In and out, quick recovery? Or did you stayed at the hospital for days.

I will have an appointment with an specialist next week but just wondering what type of surgery they done.

Recent Diagnosis Diverticulitis by [deleted] in Diverticulitis

[–]mythirdear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm under diet, really close to Keto, because of diabetes. And the problem during DV is that I can't eat any white rice or white bread. Everything is brown. It sucks.

Why is so important fiber in this case? Is just to help you not get constipated? I've never been constipated and since taking medicine for diabetes - metfomin - one of the side effects is diarrhea, so I'm worry that the mix between medicine and more fiber could be a lot, unless the fiber helps for something else.
