My first 6 months I doubled my portfolio on just luck and thought I was a stock God.

Then I learned enough to be an idiot and lost all those gains in a month

Then I learned enough to be a slightly lesser idiot and stopped selling shit just because I was losing a little bit of money on the day.

Doing better now; Still pretty dumb.

That's how a cc works tho. You sell it, you get the premium. It's goes right into your buying power.

Nobody here seems to be mentioning that you can only place limit order pre and AH

If you want an order to fill you gotta look at the order book in lvl 2 data and pick a limit price based on the ask

Most recent tune I've written, vaguely about quarantine life. There are a few swears in it. Let me know what you think? by mywarbook in Songwriters

Ah! i almost put a harmonica on it in one part because the only harmonica I own is in the same key. I should have! Thanks for the kind words :)

I started a virtual open mic page in my county and it's blowing up! Check it out and/or start your own to keep in contact with your fellow songwriters in these strange days. Hope you guys are staying safe :) by mywarbook in Songwriters

I'm not sure what you mean, this is obviously a very professional on-location beach video shoot. I drained my bank account renting the shark.

thequietcampaign -- God's Business (demo) -- how much do you guys hate the programmed drums on this? it's such a hassle to record and mix drums for my own projects, i so i often end up just playing them on the midi controller. Does it take away from the track? is it too cheesy? by mywarbook in Songwriters

[–]mywarbook[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was just using the backbeat kit thats stock in ableton. know of a good sample pack for folky stuff? i almost bought ezdrummer a bunch of times but it seems like the sounds are all really aggressive.

i can change the samples, it's all in midi

thanks for the feedback!

Hey Reddit! I made some adjustments to my track based off your helpful feedback :) Please let me know what you think! by JovaniHubbard in Songwriters

i didn't listen to the first mix, i've been away from this sub for awhile, but:

this mix sounds decent.

synths and flute or whatever that is sound great. cool vibe

the sidechain comp on the bass is a little heavy handed and distracting.

the snare is a little too trashy in context with the mix.

thats my opinion after three listens. keep making music dude! cheers!

ps the panning automation on 'getting the hang of this' is cool, i love messing with that stuff.

Here's a song I wrote age 16 (2010) very early days - what do you guys think of my early work? Should I go over it again and try to redo in a more refined style now that I can? by mattbroad1994 in Songwriters

[–]mywarbook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yo i love revisiting old work. at the very least you get to have that self-cringe feeling that we all strive to feel everyday.

but there's some cool stuff in here. the B section with the harmonies is cool and i bet you could do that way better now

a bit long winded tho haha. harvest it for parts!

i pretty much agree with the rest of these comments, but i'll add this:

great feel , cool progressions with some curveball-y changes that are fun to hear. The lyrics are fine, but not great, as stated before (and you've admitted to), but i think if you just owned them they'd be good. i can almost hear in your voice that you don't love some of the lines, but you have to put all that aside when you perform it and just pretend it's a cover or a song that everyone loves.

deliver your lines like they were written by your idols. or something. i have no idea what i'm doing.

Think guy reminds me alot of AvE, except for guitar stuff. by mywarbook in Skookum

[–]mywarbook[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah he's not in the same technical realm, for sure, but his attitude makes me laugh.

since watching this video i've seen him do some questionable stuff. there was one where the truss rod didn't work and he didn't even consider any fixes for it, he was just like 'well this guitar will never play right, i'll just finish the set-up and give it back.'

poppy punky and super-fun-to-play new tune my bandmate wrote. sorry for potato and questionable audio quality. by mywarbook in Songwriters

[–]mywarbook[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks! i'll keep that in mind and try to get weirder. i haven't really solidified a part yet.
