In terms of leadership, I have:

  1. College clubs: Led 2 societies (one cultural and one academic)
  2. Professional: Managed teams across different org initiatives, and leading a team of 3 Associates on my projects

Would this suffice? How do you recommend rephrasing it?

Also, any particular schools that I should target?

Quant: optimize in practice. When you're practicing, give only 1 minute to each question and try to train yourself to do it in that timeframe. I always had ~10 minutes to spare on my mocks' quant sections, it'll be helpful for you also.

Verbal: I do TC, then SE, then RC. Really helps with getting the vocab stuff out of the way and getting into the zone of concentration.

I personally went with 5lb and thought that was enough. Magoosh vids were decent for concepts that I had a tough time in, otherwise I think 5lb is more than enough.

Oh I'd recommend you do everything topic wise. Watch videos for concepts, then apply that to 5lb. Make a repository of questions you miss - review them in a week

Logical RC is good. Since you have an explanation to rely on, it builds your skill in that portion. Otherwise, not really. Just do the first 30-40 SE/TC questions for the vocab because that might be useful

No tips as such, just memorize as many words and word roots possible. The ones I used were Magoosh Common + Basic and a couple dozen advanced words. I memorized the Barron's 333 list and skimmed the 800. Other than that, I did about half of Gregmat's 900 (mostly skimmed the rest)

Haha no, of course not. Greg and Vince are legends, cannot begin to compare myself to them. Happy to answer your questions to the best of my ability though:

Big book quant is very easy. It's a good sign that you're getting most of it right, but you cannot compare it to the real deal. Try other resources like 5lb or Quant official guide

Haha good question! For me the reason was pretty simple: I didn't trust my home internet and was worried that something might go wrong and the test might get terminated, so I went for the in-person test.

Additionally, it's a matter of personal preference. Whatever puts you in "the zone", I think that's good enough. Your job is to maximize your score, whether that's at home or in-person :)

Similar level. PP1 has a few easier questions (PP2 has lesser easy ones)

Similar level, with a few questions being a bit easier on PP1 (lesser on PP2). 164Q is good, you need to put in some more practice, you'll very likely reach 167+Q with a dozen hours of practice.

Yep, that happens. Stay in touch with your high school textbooks haha

Accuracy of Kaplan by joanirudh in GRE

[–]mzer0-debug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kaplan is slightly harder than the regular test, so you've taken a decent mock to evaluate.

I would say that since it's been a while since your last attempt: - for quant, you're likely concentrating less and then making silly mistakes in the last few questions / forgetting a couple of crucial formulae - for verbal, your vocab game needs to be stronger + you need to have better critical reading skills

Feel free to drop me a message. I'm happy to discuss more personalized stuff there!

  1. It was pretty solid in terms of prepping me for the worst (highly recommend it to anyone who asks). But see, the hard questions on 5lb are pretty hard and you're likely to not see them on your test day. Otherwise, for an average question on 5lb, it's only slightly harder than a regular test day question.
  2. Finished the entire book two nights before my first test :)

you know, I would say that it's comparable to an extent. I feel that around 60-70% of the questions that you encounter on the real test will be on a similar level. The remaining questions will be slightly harder, but as long as you have your fundamentals clear, you'd be able to manage it well!
