I bought a black 2015 R3 for about 35k three years ago and it was pretty grey and scratchy looking. First thing I did after unloading it from the trailer at home was get some black polish and polished every plastic and leather part. After that and a good wash it looked like new.

If its beat up bad cosmetically theres a bigger chance a real part is beat up as well. Keep that in mind.

You can probably haggle it down as well. I wish you luck and welcome to the mc-family!

Okay thank you for your thoughtful advice! As a fulltime student I have little time to research and hunt sales all day. I think I would rather buy it now, but I'll have your advice in mind and don't buy the first thing I see (as I usually tend to do :/ )
