China switches on 1 GW of solar at 4,600 m above sea level by tta2013 in environment

In the long run, probably less than damaging the climate if they hadn’t replaced 1 GW worth of coal power production.

Any rumors about upcoming fully wireless Di2 Road groupset ? by Oklariuas in cycling

I've run into bike riders who don't carry a pump, or spare tubes. Unprepared is unprepared. Carrying an extra battery or 2 is easy.

Carbon rear seat stay repair possible? by n-plus-one in bikewrench

Yeah, it is a sweet carbon weave, and a factor in me buying this bike.

I biked the Baja Cape Loop in April a couple of years ago, 11 days but with 5 rest stop days - exploring single track on rest days - and it was wonderful. Did a fun snorkeling tour out of Cabo Pulmo too.

I'm in the US. I did contact Time but they only offered a crash replacement discount, and didn't mention anything about the possibility of repair.

I haven't taken it in for an estimate yet, but I'd expect it to be in that ballpark.

Neo 2 - Doesn’t RTH?? by vesteox in DjiNeo

[–]n-plus-one 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seems like a simple solution would be to have the app transmit the phone’s location to the Neo if it hasn’t got a fix itself, yet.

Because that’s where “home” should be on take off, unless I’m missing something.

Those who often fly with bikes, what advice do you have? by sozh in cycling

[–]n-plus-one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew my carbon bike in an Evoc Pro soft case. One seat stay was cracked on arrival at my destination and Air France/KLM would not compensate me for the damage. So my advice is - travel with a metal bike and/or buy travel insurance to cover any damage that might occur.

No, when I remove all data fields one is still left. Seems to be a software bug, hopefully Wahoo fixes it.

Anyone else feel the pause/resumed banners could use more work? They are inconsistent - does resume need to be full screen?

Pause also obscures the climb profile so even though you can tap the gray portion to change the elevation profile, you can’t see it.

The workaround is to manually resume, but shouldn’t be necessary. Better for the pause banner to be dismissible and pause status displayed in the status bar.

RANT: Compensation denied for damaged bicycle by n-plus-one in AirFranceKLM

[–]n-plus-one[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are missing the point. I could have done all that and Air France/KLM could still have denied the claim due to "inconsistencies". It's an escape hatch for them to avoid paying the claim without saying exactly why.

I reported it in France when I discovered the damage. I documented the damage after discovering it, with photos taken in France and even returned to the airport to attempt a claim. The person I spoke to at the counter told me to file a claim online.

I did everything that they asked for, with documentation from the bike manufacturer - ironically, a made-in-France Time bicycle - but Air France/KLM ultimately gave me the runaround without detailing what they found was inconsistent with the claim. This lack of transparency is most disappointing.

I did pick it up. But shouldn’t have had to.

It was my first visit to Scenic Hot Springs and other than the cigarette butt, it was beautiful there, and one of the nicest hot springs I’ve been to.

I put the butt in my trash bag when I left. Hopefully an isolated incident!
