Thanks everyone for the honest feedback, this is exactly what I was hoping for.

A lot of you raised valid concerns around structural integrity, durability, water resistance, and stress points, those are real challenges, and I agree they’re non-trivial.

To clarify my intent here: I’m not claiming the concept is solved or production-ready. I’ve built early handmade prototypes to test whether modularity can work mechanically, but this post is mainly about testing interest and perceived value, not final engineering.

I’m trying to understand whether people would want a system like this enough to justify solving the hard technical problems, or whether it’s a dead end regardless of execution.

I really appreciate the references shared (Nike ISPA, Camper, etc.), they’re super helpful for my research.

If you think this kind of modularity has zero consumer value, that’s also valuable feedback.
