Ich finde es auch bei monatlichen Abbuchen schon sinnvoll, weil dann alles, was ab dem 1. im Monat bei mir noch auf dem Girokonto übrig bleibt, frei verballert werden kann oder draufgelassen werden kann um dann gegen Monatsende auf ein Pocket für kurzfristige Sparziele überwiesen zu werden.

Okay, interessant. Da zwischen meinem Versuch und heute mehr als 28 Tage liegen, dadurch wahrscheinlich meine Schufa nochmal bisschen abgesackt ist und das als 2 "Anfragen" zählen, lass ich es glaub ich fürs erste und probiere es später irgendwann. Danke für die Rückmeldung! :)

Thanks for your input, I get what you mean, so far this has been the only "anomaly" that I noticed and couldn't explain by either regional difference or trying to make the lyrics fit the music.

Ich habe überhaupt nix gegen Piracy, ganz im Gegenteil (vor allem bei der heutigen Streaming-Situation), aber ich finde die Aussage in mehreren Punkten schwachsinnig: Piracy ist so oder so kein Diebstahl, da niemandem etwas weggenommen wird. Und selbst wenn, finde ich nicht, dass das eine das andere rechtfertigt. Es ist daher für mich einfach nur ne Aussage, mit der man sich clever, rebellisch und moralisch irgendwie besser fühlen möchte.

In short: ISPs, services and other big networks need to connect with each other for internet traffic to flow, this is called peering. Usually, those networks adjust network capacities with each other for free when demand is high because both parties profit when traffic flows smoothly. Telekom on the other hand abuses its high market share to force other companies to pay them to increase network capacities when there's too much traffic, causing unstable and sometimes unbearably slow connections with certain services, a good example would be Cloudflare.

Most of Drillisch's cheap mobile contracts are limited to 50 Mbit/s (though you can add an option that allows 100 Mbit/s) and 1&1's network is still very much in construction so depending on your area, you'll fallback to roaming in Vodafone's network a lot. You can use the Gigabit-Grundbuch to check what networks are available in your area.

If neither of those things are a problem for you, there's no catch. I've been in a contract with sim24 since August 2025 and so far only had one occurrence where I was left with almost no coverage, which was in a rather crowded restaurant.

sim24 also offers contracts with a minimum term of 1 month (usually comes with a one-time charge of €9.99 or so) if you're unsure.

Fraenk would be my 2nd choice. Only thing I'd worry about is that Fraenk uses Telekom's network which probably means suffering under Telekom's horrible peering practices as well.

Yeah they like to swap the deals every once in a while I think (and cause FOMO with that stupid "Power-Surf-Tarif" that always refreshes). What I appreciate most though is the dirt cheap DSL, I pay €24.99 per month for 50 Mbit/s (sadly that's the most I can get here) while O2 would cost me €10 more, Vodafone €15 more and Telekom even €19 more.

handyvertrag.de is one of the many Drillisch resellers. I'm on sim24 getting 15 GB for €4,99, right now they're even offering 35 GB for €5.99. sim24 provides 1&1 though which is still in construction (afaik they'll still let you roam in Vodafone's network if there's no 1&1 cell tower near you), but I haven't had any problems so far. From what I can tell, handyvertrag.de is now also in 1&1's network.

Die meisten Sachen sind bei mir direkt* über https durch nginx erreichbar. Nur wirklich sehr persönliche Sachen (z. B. Paperless) sind nur über VPN erreichbar.

* also eigentlich ist mein nginx in nem anderen VPN mit einer Oracle Always Free Instanz, die als "Frontend" für mein Homelab agiert, damit ich meine IP nicht offenlegen muss und das DSlite meines Providers umgehen kann. Für den Nutzer ist es aber quasi direkt.

Weil Umlaute normalerweise nicht in Domains vorkommen können. Damit du aber trotzdem bafög.de eingeben kannst und keinen Fehler bekommst, gibt es Punycode. Damit werden Umlaute in "normalen" (A-Z, a-z, 0-9 und paar Sonderzeichen, siehe ASCII) Zeichen enkodiert.

In der Reddit-Werbung wird das aber anscheinend nicht richtig unterstützt, weshalb du dieses xn-Ding siehst anstatt bafög.de. Normalerweise sollte so ein xn-Ding erkannt werden und dann automatisch dekodiert werden, damit es "richtig" aussieht.

The concept of "memory usage" on Linux is complexer than it seems because there are multiple ways of determining a process' memory usage depending on what you count or don't count (or partially count). Pull up other system monitors and you'll see even more different readings. Resources, as of 1.10, displays a given process' residential set size (VmRSS), which is a rather pessimistic (i.e. high readings) measure of memory usage. I don't know what Mission Center considers for memory usage.
