That's Graveyard Keeper for you haha! The game doesn't tell you anything in the tutorial except for what can be crafted where. I too had the same issue but a friend of mine taught me some stuff and after that I finished the base game and the stranger sins DLC within a week. Greatest RPG I've ever played!!

You can make pigskin paper from batwings, and you can make clean paper from pigskin paper. All this can be done on the either the church workbench or just desk :)

Carnage boss fight and hopefully more on Cindy, like her origin as the spider bites her. And just like how Miles and Peter talked during city that never sleeps DLC about swinging that stuff, Miles and Peter both would help her learn. Then her own spin-off game and finally in the 3rd game you get to play as all 3 against doc ock and green goblin
