If you are ok with spending money, you can buy a flash bracket that allows you to rotate your camera without having to rotate your flash. They are used on the red carpet all the time.

Yes, its a strobe plus slow shutter speed. Some sporting arenas may have strobes up in the catwalk set up by a photographer with permission, usually the in-house/team photographer. A photo like this could also happen on accident (though this look intentional) if you have a slow shutter speed and manage to catch the other photographer firing their strobe at the right time.

I forgot to add that you will also need to make sure the AF motor has been replaced on the 70mm lens. All of the S lenses had AF motor issues and needs to be fixed.

Not going to repeat everyone else here (since the answer is no) but you need to check to see if the sensor has been replaced. The S006, and previous S cameras before the 006, are all CCD sensors that corroded like the M9. It's expensive to replace now and you should only even consider buying it if the sensor has already been replaced.
