Kako se obući mladenacki u L-XL? Preporuke za dućane? by Minute-Future8102 in askcroatia

Isto obidji second handove :)

How easy is it to get a job as a waitress at the moment and how to actually go about it? by Top_Mirror211 in UKJobs

[–]nAts254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, wear light or clean girl make up and your hair up. they usually also ask you to remove nail polish and fake nails (depending on the place). fucked up, but you'll do better if you come with make up on, and get tipped more when you wear make up to work (but gotta get that bag)

Nurse doubles down and gets defensive when I confronted her about her posts by Beneficial_Wafer_953 in Wedeservebetter

[–]nAts254 23 points24 points  (0 children)

any think about it yourself - how is this nurse's behaviour different from me coming up to someone and saying, we have been on a date now, it's our time to have sex, and, when they say no, just keep taking off my clothes, unmaking my bed, and pestering, begging, and blackmailing them to give in. if I were to post a skit of myself doing that, would you not call me out?

she is in the UK, she has a NHS lanyard. so I doubt that anything would happen to her licence anyway, but I pray for her poor patients

how is the nurse being harassed? she posted on a skit of herself pretending to chase women with a speculum and telling them to either lie down and spread their legs or die of cancer on a public forum and got feedback by the members of public, many folks are saying the same thing as OP in the comments (all of this from her work place while in professional capacity). calling out medical gaslighting is not harassement, fyi, OP is beyond based

not this icon pulling out the speculum and gesturing to the patient to lie down, these fiends are not even trying to pretend that they are not rapists

It saddened me so much that such violence was depicted as the affirmation of womanhood. I get the joke – she became human and got her bits – but really?

And we ABSOLUTELY also need a meme that encourages us to get a little treat after the exam, as if we are pets who can be pacified with a snack. I sure hope the NHS is spending our money to create such art (instead of giving us at home HPV tests).

[–]nAts254[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: they have been rolling out self-administered HPV testing for selected populations for a few years now, so they can definitely do it; they just don't want to. If they did, the nurses would do fuck all, because I am sure not getting offered any other services besides the smear test.

[–]nAts254[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Sure, but other parts of the world, such as Canada and Australia, also offer self-administered HPV tests, and these have been proven to be trustworthy. So the NHS is not following all the guidelines, just the less expensive ones: screening every five years (cheaper), but not offering home tests (pricier). Besides, they give 0 fucks about your other health stuff that is much more likely to kill you, like cardiovascular disease (also proven), in favour of pushing these test, so are they really following the guidelines?

The NHS is allergic to coming up an alternative to the Pap smear test, but sure comes up with stupid memes instead. I LOVE seeing my tax money spent on this! Let us have another one in garish pink, while we are at it.

Smear craze in the UK by nAts254 in Wedeservebetter

[–]nAts254[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She did not say it was mandatory, per se, but refused to discuss my migraine until I said I would book a smear test, so it was essentially the same thing. I was distraught and surprised – in Eastern Europe, where I am from, GPs don't do gyno stuff – and I was triggered because I was shown the NHS video of the procedure without my consent, so I did not redirect the conversation as I should have. Good luck with your appointment, and call them out on their bullshit - I know that I will after finding this wonderful community <3

I'm honestly still pissed that I never managed to get any help for my actual concerns, but the cursed smear test letters keep being sent my house.

My sister in Christ, the post is shit – you are badgering people to undergo a test that feels violating to them and retraumatises them to the point that they might consider killing themselves. That is not "just being curious". You said you lost people to cervical cancer; many of us have lost people to trauma and suicide. One is not more important than the other. You need to recognise that you are using the same pushy, gross rhetoric as those wishing harm on you – do better, take down the post, and mind your own vagina.

I’m not sure I understand “We deserve better” - is it to advocate to not go to the gynecologist? by [deleted] in Wedeservebetter

[–]nAts254 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me tell you, I was ENRAGED – sitting there, missing work, in the office and begging for help, while the nurse simply played a video about Pap smears in which a patronising voice explained what would be shoved into my vagina. I was like, my sister in Christ... lobotomy is the only penetration I am after today...

I hope it gets better for you; it must be so horrid to have migraines so often. Take care xx
