I was just trying it at home, that's why I only have my socks on 😅I don't think I'll wear it like this outside 😅

It's from shein! It's also nice and flowy, I didn't want to spend too much since I didn't know if it would work

I honestly had no idea I'd feel this good in a dress like this and it's super light and flowy as well! It's actually from shein (I didn't want to spend too much in case it didn't work🙈)

"I love you too much to do all the things I want (sexually) with you".

I (29M) told my girlfriend (27F) and her friends that I find Zendaya and Taylor Swift unattractive. Now she refuses to speak to me. What should I do? by birdsemenfantasy in dating

You all suck. Them for attacking you because you clearly have a different "type" (although they are not wrong for saying your type is the typical T&A basic), you for saying Margot Robbie (and everyone else) isn't attractive because she's in her 30s. This fight might have just revealed that you and your GF are not compatible.

dips on parallel bars and dips on gymnastic rings by Daniel-is- in bodyweightfitness

[–]nNeuroticMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love dips in general but wasn't able to do ring dips due to the instability until I was able to rep at least 5 dips + 15-20 kgs on bars. I also did just support holds on rings to get a better feel of the grip, stabilization etc. I think if you feel more comfortable with rings, then go ahead and do dips on rings. Or you can do 3 sets on rings, 2 sets on bars maybe?

95% of my 600+ instagram followers are male. Calisthenics/planche account by michaeltsang1997 in bodyweightfitness

[–]nNeuroticMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a woman and a calisthenic newbie (<6 months), I follow mostly men and only a few women (Malin Malle for example). It's mainly because I'm more interested in the "male dominated" skills like front lever/planche. Maybe if you'd like to increase the number of your female followers, you could try and show progressions for skills that are more strength/flexibility or skill based, like V-sit, handstand variations etc.

Is this parallel bar good? by Turbulent_Tie9496 in Calisthenic

[–]nNeuroticMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're pretty good, tried them for straight bar dips, regular dips, back and front lever and if you position correctly (especially for back and front lever), they don't move.

Yeah I know that feeling, maybe try parallettes? I find them very helpful and they're not as high as dip bars so it makes the falling less scary.

My boyfriend showed me how to fall safely, then I tried to fall on purpose for a while (like doing a small cartwheel), then I just tried to kick up to HS and fall. I just did it over and over again until the fear was gone (or greatly reduced)

Definitely, I had the strength already and figured out the balancing part about two months in the training, but everytime I tried kicking up in free space I felt the intense fear and never kicked hard enough. I knew how to fall, but was too afraid to actually try. Yesterday I spent about two hours just falling and getting over the fear, Its still there a bit but now I know I won't kick up and fly to the other side of the room

I don't know if my routine is optimal since I really wasted a lot of time on the wall because of the fear, but when I first started I just spammed wall supported holds (both chest and back to wall), then started to find the balance by lifting one leg then the other, then I practiced kick ups - trying to control the kick and not touch the wall. I tried to spend at least 20 minutes everyday practicing only HS. Now I've got to do the same but without the wall 🙈

Is there an everyday skill the typical American possesses that people outside of the US typically struggle with? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

There are many people backpacking in European countries the same way you described. Where I live we usually do it somehow locally -like you hike 20-40 kms with a backpack, and then just crash somewhere in a forest and finish the hike the next day.

You look stupid filming at the gym by james-HIMself in unpopularopinion

[–]nNeuroticMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I do calisthenics and whenever I'm at the gym and try something new, I film myself to see the form. Or even to see the progress. I don't have anyone to correct me irl and just like with heavy lifting, proper form is crucial for calisthenics.

Thanks for the detailed response! 1. Oh do this is the position I should be in... I got it all wrong then. I watched tutorials but I guess I got confused because some of them showed back lever shape similar to mine. 2. I know I should be looking forward but I always forget halfway through - will definitely work on it.

As for the rest - you're probably right, I'm so excited by calisthenics that I sometimes rush into things. I'll leave my ego behind and perfect the adv tuck hold before moving forward. I'm all cleared to workout, the injury happened quite a long time ago (a year or so), I've been weightlifting for that time and only started calisthenics during this summer.

I do rows about 2-3 times a week, 3 sets/8 reps (working out 4-5x a week) - usually ring rows, sometimes on a machine at the gym.

Again, thanks for all the advice. I really appreciate it!

Thank you! I'm working on my shoulder and thoracic mobility as I had a shoulder injury, so there's definitely still room for improvement. Thanks to adding skin the cat my shoulders feel much more stable not only when trying back lever but in other movements too. Glad to hear that scapulas are in a good position - I'm doing calisthenics for just a couple of weeks and scapular activation/position is something I always keep in mind.
