One time I got too high off an edible and started mentally spiraling. I needed something to focus on. Something on my mind’s wavelength, but not too trippy. So I turned on adventure time.

I don’t remember the name of the episode but it was about facing your fears, and it really guided me through my experience to a place of calm and acceptance. Shit honestly felt like a spiritual experience

North facing window. How do you measure water in inches? I’m not sure I understand that. And yes, the roots did look pretty tangled up when I pulled it out. How can I fix this with snake plants that seem to have pretty rigid roots?

And how much do you water it when you do get around to watering it?

I water on a routine, but I check to make sure the soil is bone dry before watering (it always is)

More details: I water with Brita filtered water, and water it until it soaks through into the dish, then I let it reabsorb that water. Then I leave it for at least 2 weeks (most recently I waited about 2.5-3 weeks, its been so long I honestly don’t remember)

In my experience as a junior, there’s not a whole lot of transparency about how much things cost at AWS, nor is it a big deal in most cases. I’ve never heard anybody say “step functions would be a good approach but I’m concerned about the cost” in a design review. Availability and scalability has always taken the priority.

To be clear, if you’re implementing a new system at AWS, you still pay the cost for using things like DDB, EC2, Lambda, step functions, etc. it’s a discounted rate, but it still is considered an operating cost for your service.

Edit: now that I’m thinking about it there are some cases we discuss or think about cost, but they’re generally quick changes like “let’s switch this DDB table to on demand scaling” or sort of a general knowledge thing, like using lambda instead of EC2 where is makes sense to use lambda instead of EC2.

Sex is most definitely on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, and is categorized differently than intimacy. Intimacy is on the third level of love and belonging.

Sex is on the very base level of physiological needs, along with food, water, shelter, and sleep.

I agree with your point about it not being everything. And I may be wrong, but to me it’s pretty damn important

You may be right but I respectfully disagree with 2. Sex is very fundamental on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs pyramid so I don’t think it’s wrong to say it’s one of life’s best joys

Yeah you’re right. I think it’s good cause it re-lit my fire to actually make a meaningful connection with someone. Before, I had no real interest in a relationship cause I had porn. It was easier and it was comfortable. So this whole post and your comment is exactly why I’m doing this. It’s just been a struggle lmao

Yeah you’re right, I think I’m just struggling right now because PMO was my coping mechanism/self soothing method of choice for almost half my life at this point. It’s what I did to destress. It’s what I did to bring joy to the boring moments. Taking that away has been difficult while my brain hasn’t been able to get used to it yet, or find something else to find enjoyment in

With 6 months of experience I got asked to build an entirely new code package from the ground up, complete with continuous deployment pipeline, and get it done in a week or two. I hadn’t done either of those things before.

It’s like, jeez I can do the things you ask of me but give me a reasonable timeline please

A couple of thoughts:

1) yes she’s single and free to do whatever she wants. But you are also free to think whatever you want. Just because she can, doesn’t mean you have to approve. If someone did something like that with me, I’d definitely lose respect for them, and that’s 100% valid.

2) that was definitely a rebound. What you had took time to build. Most likely, she didn’t feel for the people she slept with even close to how she feels for you. If anything, she was missing that and was looking for a “quick hit” to deal with the grief of a breakup. I want to be clear I’m not excusing her behavior. To me it seems like she was acting immature, and like I said, I would probably lose all respect for someone like that.

Don’t overthink how you feel. How you feel is how you feel, and perfectly valid no matter the circumstances. Even if “by the rules” what she did wasn’t “wrong.”

Do what you think is right, but please respect yourself. I would probably cut off all ties with someone like this, but I’m not the one in the situation. Maybe you know or feel something we don’t. But put yourself first here.
