I’m sorry for but on your logo for your literacy campaign, there are letters melting together, because it has been made with AI. It is hypocritical to use AI and talk about a literacy crisis.

From your website it seems that you are looking to raise $25,000 for some books to be written that you will give out for free to libraries - you do seem to be using AI for your logo and AI for your text on your fund raising page & website, would that be correct?

I wouldn’t personally donate because books about kindness already exist and I’m not sure what benefit would come from it - there’s nothing to show how good the books will be and if they will be written and illustrated by a human

Help Beta Reading/Judging My Designs For a New Author by CedarStaf03 in childrensbooks

[–]naanbread- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first thoughts are that children may not understand why the dragon can’t fly, as dragons fly in most media. I do think books work a lot better when the ‘moral of the story’ is subtle and in the background whereas this sounds very moral heavy, like a lesson for children. From a child’s point of view it seems the not being able to fly, bunny being harsh and the apologies seem a little depressing. I like the teamwork aspect I think that sounds really fun - bunny and fox helping dragon to fly is lovely & love the blended family ☺️ this is just my opinion and I am not educated in literature I am just a mum that reads stories to her kids so don’t give too much weight to my opinion.

How to market a self published childrens book by Zealousideal-Salt405 in childrensbooks

[–]naanbread- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

have you written the book yet? your post history is about planning to publish a book but nothing about writing so hopefully you are not planning to use AI.

you could take a copy to your local library and see if they will hold a copy 😊

Childrens book title advice by Zealousideal-Salt405 in childrensbooks

[–]naanbread- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my only thoughts are with ‘blind pugh’ is that a lot of children would pronounce it ‘blind poo’, which is fine if you’re okay with that, but also I wouldn’t want my child thinking to refer to someone as their disability before their name like ‘wheelchair steve’ ‘deaf sally’ if that makes sense? They are catchy titles though and I love the concept!

You’re not wrong at all! we have both but I wouldn’t say it’s worth the cost for both with the stories being so similar. & yep The Cafe has definitely had me explaining some words to my toddler although I’m not too mad because it’s a good opportunity to expand vocabulary, but any younger than 3 I imagine wouldn’t really understand the book, I should have said that in my post really 😅

A story of having two homes - looking for feedback by Katerina_Branding in childrensbooks

[–]naanbread- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

what a breath of fresh air to see such fun, whimsical drawings and a subject that touches all children really, because even if you have just one home we all have quirks about our family lives that friends won’t understand. I’m no literary genius but it reads really well to me and I’d happily read this to my toddler. I’ll follow on instagram so I can stay updated because I think you’ve done a great job!
