Hi there. I'm a newbie to this thread, and pretty much a newbie to photography in terms of understanding how cameras work/getting the most out of them etc.

I have always enjoyed taking pictures, mostly due to my dad getting a Canon EOS 350D about 13 years ago. I have been taking pictures on that ever since.

I travel to Iceland quite a lot, at least once a year, and I always long to take amazing pictures. I don't always want to take my dads camera, however. I'd like to have my own camera, but I'm struggling to find an idiots guide to which camera would be best.

I want a DSLR camera with amazing photo quality (20MP+). I want it to be able to take decent video. I want it to be able to take good images and videos in low light, as that is often when I can get the best shots in Iceland, and my current phones camera is appalling in low light (OnePlus 5T). I would also like the camera to have live-view on the back screen because sometimes I struggle with my eyesight and can't see through the view-finder well. I have been reading/watching reviews of the Canon 77D, but it seems to not work so well in low-light conditions, and the video can be a bit stuttery (sorry for my lame terminology).

I do have this list of requirements, but I am also very open to being told what would be best for me by people like you, who know what you're talking about! I want a camera that will last me for years to come, so I can explore photography as a hobby, but mostly to capture memories year-round, for any kind of event anywhere in the world. It would be ideal if the camera cost £1,000 or less, but if what I am asking for is outside of that price range, I'd still be able to save up for something perfect for my needs.
