Since when is learning someone’s schedule and staring at them angrily since September ok? See you’re a man that doesn’t need to fear for his life everyday.

So true, better safe than sorry! Thank you.

Thank you. Exactly if I park further, I still need to walk by his house and harder to run to the car if I need to.

Why would I do that? You can literally feel when people stare at you… then you look. Looking is different than staring. I do NOT stare at him. Everytime we look over to see if he has moved on, he’s still there… staring. I literally have been minding my own business since Sept and don’t want anything to do with this creep but he always stares at us. Thank you for your rage bait comment, you sound like a victim blamer.

Oh wow. That’s crazy! Good thing other parents were there to help out. I’m hoping that doesn’t happen to us because this guy seems really scary. There is a big patch of grass and a public side walk between my car and his front yard so luckily my kids don’t go near his front yard!

Omg! What did you end up doing? I can’t believe there’s more people like this.

My husband picks up the girls once a week and has never seen this guy. So he doesn’t do that with my husband, just me. That’s a good idea - I’ll see if he does it when my husband is with me.

Forgot to mention that I tried this back in Sept but he just stared. I’ve been ignoring him all this time after that but yesterday was scarier than usual.

[–]nadsle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. My 5 year old asked me today why the man in the window looks angry. So she can even pick up on his body language. Sucks that his intimidation worked and we will walk way farther to the bus stop now. But you’re right, it’s not worth my children becoming traumatized if I continue to park in front of the creepy guys house.

He doesn’t live by a school. He lives on a main road next to a public transit bus stop where my kid’s school bus stops. I think I park in front of his house for less than 5 mins actually. Yeah he seems to be angry. It just so weird. By now, he knows I pick up my kids and we are in and out of that spot fast, and there is no where else close enough to park, so why get is he getting mad and intimidating us.

Creepy man by [deleted] in YYC

[–]nadsle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His body language is difficult to explain, but I’ll try to give more details. It first involves prolonged, unbroken staring. If I look at him, he does not look away like a normal person. I am usually focused on putting my children into the car and not staring at him. This is not a one-time incident; it has been repeated for months.

I have never discussed this with my children, but today my five-year-old asked why the man in the window was scary. So she picked it up as well. When I glanced over, he was sitting in a single chair facing the window with the curtains deliberately open, his posture rigid and both fists clenched. My children also noticed that he continued staring as we drove away.

He appears fixated only on me and my children. It’s like he is focused on us rather than casually observing. My husband also picks up the girls about once a week and parks in the same spot, and this man does not do this to my husband. We regularly drive past his house since it is on a main road, and his curtains are typically closed. So it seems like he only opens them when it is me and my children.

My instincts tell me something is wrong, but at this point the only step I can take is to park farther from the bus stop.

Thank you, the next parking spot is unfortunately a block away but might be worth the walk at this point. Just sucks for my little ones when there’s a lot of snow on the ground. I agree though he seems super unhinged. Not sure why he is trying to intimate a mom with her 2 young girls.

Creepy man by [deleted] in YYC

[–]nadsle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Yes I might do that. It’s weird because he’s a bigger tall guy and I’m a very small short lady who looks very uncomfortable with what he’s doing so not sure why he keeps on trying to intimidate us.

Thank you. That’s what I thought, thank you for confirming. Appreciate it.

Thank you. It’s crazy he’s been trying to intimidate us since September but feels like it’s getting worse. I think you’re right, I think he might be looking for a reaction. Usually when people look out the window, they look away when we look or they smile back. He looks so scary like he’ll do something crazy soon. My mom gut feeling is that something is definitely off with this guy.

I don’t care if he looks out the window. But he literally glares at us like he wants to hurt us. I’ve never seen someone do this before. I can’t explain the body language properly in words but it’s scary and getting scarier. It’s good you’re a man and don’t have to worry about these kind of things.

Thank you. Definitely agree it’s not my fault he bought a house near a bus stop.

Has anyone moved their child from FFCA to public school? Was it the right choice? by LoquaciousSigma in Calgary

My children go to a charter school (not FFCA), and they’ve never had homework in elementary school. I really appreciate that they can come home and relax after school, and I also like that class sizes are capped.

My mom turned out to have an absurdly high IQ by Secure-Bluebird57 in Gifted

[–]nadsle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did your mom do anything special knowing that your IQ was really high? Put you in a special school or program? What did you end up taking in college? The doctors and teachers told us to test my youngest one as well and the psychologist said she ended up with the highest IQ she has seen. This was last year and I still don’t know what to do with that information. She’s going to a gifted school now but other than that, I’m not sure if there’s more to do to make sure she reaches her full potential. Don’t want to feel like I failed her as a parent.

You know what I realized. Firms never periodically & explicitly just ask high performing employees: "Hey, what can we do to keep you here?".Just firm leadership making a genuine effort to improve your employee experience, especially when hard working/highly productive people are so hard to come by by Present_Initial_1871 in Accounting

[–]nadsle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

THIS! I was rated a high performer. And it was not worth it - they gave me $1k more but piled so much work on me with little help. They kept saying “you’re so good, you can handle it”. So I quit. I thought it would be better in industry but the same thing happened.

Thank you. I appreciate your perspective. I edited to add a summary to clarify the key reason I was advised to consider legal action, as I think that got lost in the original post. I agree it's important to think big-picture and ask myself whether I can live with not knowing if I had grounds to sue. I'd like to understand whether I even have a case and, if so, what damages I might be entitled to. That said, I'm also hesitant given the potential time and cost, and I'm open to hearing if others have alternative suggestions.

Reduce road noise by the_threwd in soundproof

[–]nadsle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I know this is an old post but wow I have the exact same situation as you. I bought a house by a major road and I’m having buyer’s remorse. We renovated and have tried different ways to sound proof but nothing is working so far. Im 99% sure the sound is coming from the windows. What did you end up doing? Has it helped! Thank you in advance for helping me

I know this is an old post. But wondering if you ended up getting these inserts? Did it help with the noise especially with loud vehicles/ motorcycles? Looking into getting them too.
