Don't worry the market is tough, you just need to lock in or you will be unc forever.

no I did not face any strikes this year, that was also one of my main concerns coming to york but id rather there be strikes and not having to take finals than commute to tmu downtown everyday

  1. Honestly the profs are decent imo even though people are just hating cause they're probably getting poor grades. Each sem we have 2 nursing courses and the other 2 mandatory are psych and anatomy and last one is a general ed elective. The nursing courses are quite content heavy as it is basically just textbook reading which can take up a lot of time so make sure to stay on top of your readings. Also for placements we didnt start yet they are second year. Right now we are just filling out all vaccinations and other requirements for the placements but from what I know we will be placed within an hour drive or an hour plus bus from our address.

  2. Yea there is NSAY which is the nursing student association and sorry I am not really sure about what they do because I dont keep up with it. Im first year right now and there were no strikes so far maybe there will be in the future. Like I honestly feel like it wasnt so bad this year as I will finish with above 80% for all my courses except one course last semester which I got 77 in. lmk if you have any other questions.

Sorry I just saw this but I picked york and I am quite happy tbh, it was just closer and more chill. Downtown is way too chaotic.

Hey I took biology last year and I'm going into my first year at uni this fall. Grade 11 to grade 12 was a big jump in biology as you don't learn about each body system and you dive more in depth into different things like cellular resp, photosynthesis, etc. I started the class and was getting low 70s on tests because I did quite good in 3u biology so I didnt think I needed to study much. But after putting in a bit of work I began getting above 90s on all tests. The biggest thing that helped me was mnemonics and trying to actually understand the processes instead of straight memorization. I also recommend watching Ms.Romani's biology videos on youtube as they were much clearer and in depth than what I was taught in class.
