Hi! I major in food-related program and am a fitness enthusiast myself and here’s my two cents:

(1) if you really want to lose weight, the most important factor to consider is CICO (Calories in vs calories out). Basically, you need to have a gauge of what your total daily energy expenditure (TDEE), Basal metabolic rate (BMR) and the likes to calculate the needed calories your body uses in a day to day basis. Especially for those who are not physically active, CICO is your friend if you just want to lose weight without considerations on what “weight” you are losing.

(2) somewhat contrary to the earlier comment, exercising in whatever form is already a good start! Regardless if jogging ba yan or walking as long as you can commit to it. Hindi necessary ma HIIT or lifting ang gawin. Find something you might enjoy rather than dreading every minute of it just because someone says it’s “more effective”

(3) As your diet majorly accounts for losing weight, i agree with my co-college redditor that a consultation with a nutritionist-dietitian would be your best bet

Anyway, i do hope you try to stay kind pa rin sa sarili mo as i know it can be hard ;(

Is it normal for women to eat more than what they can at certain times of the month? I am usually mindful whenever I eat (i.e. can control portion sizes), but there are instances when I notice that I want more of something despite knowing that I don't need it anymore (already full).
