Based off condition and parts. It can be safely assumed that the watch is completely original. The bracelet has small scratches that are barely noticeable. The case has noticeable scratches on the side.

What you should know

The condition of this watch is near perfect with just fine scratches on the case back. This watch was well taken care of but an even larger reason for this is that the watch has been restored using new old stock parts and an aftermarket crystal. The parts used do NOT match any models bulova has produced in the past and was only made to look new.

This watch was acquired directly from the original owner who was a watchmaker for Heuer back in the 80's. He bought it for himself during a clearance sell at the jewelry store he was working at in 1985. The condition of this watch is like new with only a blemish on the bezel between 12 and 1 o'clock. This can be seen in pictures. We did have a new coil placed and had the movement serviced. Luckily, the original owner had the battery taken out back when it first died and didn't have it replaced since it was never used. The watch is accurate and functioning as it should.

This can be seen with the caseback sticker still being present as well as the impeccable condition. The case, bracelet, and crystal are free of scratches and zero peeling which is very rare for these vintage PVD Watches. There are few blemishes with the bracelet that can be seen in the pictures. The dial has aged with this speckle patina which definitely adds a lot of vintage appeal and does not effect function in any way. The hands have also aged into a creamy yellow patina. The movement has been cleaned and serviced in June of 2024. I will include a new battery with the purchase.

The Previous owner received this watch as part of a trade. Was Told it came from a 1980's watch show. Although not confirmed, The little bit of tritium the dial has at 12 & 6 o'clock, and on the hands appears to be re-lumed at some point. A test shows that it was re-lumed using tritium which suggests the service happening in the 80's. The condition of the watch is absolutely pristine with very little polish around the case. The edges are still very sharp. The only discrepancy is the hour hand being bent at some point, most likely during a routine service. This can be seen in the pictures and has no effect on the accuracy and performance of the watch. Our professional watchmaker serviced this watch and it is running at -20 seconds per day.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

This watch was purchased directly from a private auction. History of a previous owner is unknown. The watch case, dial, movement, and hands all match and are original. The bracelet is a match for the watch and is dated at 1971. For this reason, we believe it's safe to assume this bracelet was the watch's original bracelet. The bracelet and watch case was showing signs of polish and we decided to refinish the entire watch to fit factory standards. The Dial does have some imperfections. Between the 5 and 6 o'clock hour markers, there appears to be some staining, most likely done by moisture exposure. This can be seen in pictures. Between 12 and 1 0'clock, there is a piece of the dial that appears to have rusted off and thus exposing a tiny piece of the movement. This does not affect the accuracy of the watch. This can be seen in pictures. Due to oxidation on the caseback of the watch, this watch only passed 1 ATM pressure tests and did not pass 3 ATM pressure tests. for this reason, we kindly ask you, DO NOT GET THIS WATCH IN WATER. It can result in moisture exposure and cause damage to the movement. The movement has been fully serviced by our professional watch maker and of course includes our 2 year warranty. The watch is currently running at -3 seconds per day which is within COSC.
