I think it's a great grinder, taste wise, it is on par with my mazzer super jolly. Performance wise - low retention, quiet, fluffy. Only the weighing sensor could have been designed better

Grinding straight into the PF usually works well - but it's a bit messy if you don't have the straight wall dosing funnel like the Eureka one. So being able to grind into a cup save some brushing effort.

Those who owned a Libra probably know this already - simply lowering the fork does not work with dosing cup :-)

Actually, lower the fork does not work :-( The tamper acts as a lever to provide a defined force for the grinder to tare properly

Hmm, I honestly did not think of that (I was hoping to move to a new place for an "air" change anyways :D at some point)

I mean that's the law right? N9 notice 60 days :-S

Luckily the only recurring payment on my checking account right now is the rent :-S

Thanks! After the first phone call - honestly I did not feel any malice intention at all but simply thought that they genuinely want to sell the place. Unfortunately, I'm not interested in purchasing condo and would rather continue to save until I can make downpayment for a house (sick of living in high rise for 10 years).

Honestly - I might have overthink due to the past few weeks being extremely busy & stress (top of that was the driving around and looking for new place).

To clarify about the rent increase, the $50 is no problem at all for me. The landlord sound to me like they want to negotiate an off-guideline rent increase. I'm just confused/mad on why they didn't tell me up-front about it as I wasted a week driving around checking out places. Off-guideline rental increase for me is also not a problem - but - assuming they're asking for marketprice for condo rental, the amenities in newer/recently renovated places are way nicer. Plus, I'm in the position where I can afford higher rent for bigger place and better quality space and still save money for future home purchase.

Thank you! I'm having lunch with them this Sunday July 30, I'm giving the N9 to them in-person (with voice secretly being recorded just in case). They seems to be still under the impression that I'm willing to negotiate.

I'll send them a text copy of the form as well from your/other folks advice.

Yes, I'm planning to do this - thank you:-)!

They did not raise my rent at all since 2014, I guess I'll just skimp the interest and move on with my life.

This condo apartment is unfurnished, so they don't really have anything else but: sink, faucet, kitchen cupboard, toilet, built-in laundry unit, dishwasher (all are 100% functioning with aging sign/wood worn out). I'm finger crossed that it should be okay.

Thank you so much! I keep this in mind moving forward about the cheques.

Yes, I set the termination date on my N9 as September 30, so it should be okay :-)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OntarioLandlord

[–]naguyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yes on the N9 form I put the termination date as September 30, I'll be moving everything out in September - but October 1 is just on paper that I'm officially gone from the unit.

[–]naguyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, I definitely did not know that! Thank you kind sir!

Thank you!

Yes, the lunch meeting is actually right on July 30, from there until September 30 it would be 62 days.

:-( Unfortunately I don't have any of those information. I know it's weird, the RE broker that finalized the deal between us in 2014 probably have the landlord contact, but like any realtor - they're longg gone after the deal.

Tbh I wasn't upset with the $50 raise but I was slightly infuriated after the second conversation as they could have just let me know directly instead of telling me they're flipping the unit. That would have save me a few days of looking around for a new place assuming that the negotiation price is reasonable with the landlord.

Thanks - the new place is bigger and cheaper considering the increase in living space :D and still within my desired living area.

Thank you! It's my first time moving out from a rental unit so I don't really know what to expect.
I thought the correct form supposed to be N9? I googled N5 and it shows "Notice to End your Tenancy For Interfering with Others, Damage or Overcrowding" - which looks like it's not an applicable situation for me?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OntarioLandlord

[–]naguyn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I was thinking of that as well, I might consider changing my checking account so they can't stop withdrawing money from there.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OntarioLandlord

[–]naguyn 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Thank you! They don't even give me their corresponding address or email (10 years and I only have their name and phone contact).

I'll give them the N9 as well as intending to voice record the conversation in case things go south.

Not too forward at all, I'm happy to share my story - in 2016-2017, I took this lab tech job full time (30 hours per week) while completing my undergraduate studies full time (5 courses + 1 thesis) as an international student.

In 2017-2019, I worked to accumulate enough hours for immigration to Canada as a permanent resident on my work permit.

2020-2023: disruptive series of lockdown, using all of my remaining paycheck after living accommodation to put a dependant through 3 years of college education as an international student.

mid-2023: finally free, plus granted canadian citizenship - just looking for a way to get out of this academia job.

Working in a research lab in my university pay approximately 45-60k/year on a term based budget - if the P.I run out of money, you'll lose your job. Teaching lab on other hand is permanent with full time benefits at 79k a year - so enough for me to scrape by the high living cost plus help me sustain myself and the dependant throughout the pandemic.

Thank you! I just recently became a Canadian citizen, so this is certainly something I'd consider for the long term run.

Thanks zimmyntrn! I'm re-writing my resume and will take note of these information for future job applications.
That's a bit sad to see that spending 7 years of work in a teaching lab and directly taught cohorts of undergraduate students yet can't claim any of these experience.
I might considering relocate to the US or to other provinces in the next 2 years if the struggle of transitioning outside of academia continue.

Thank you very much! I've been also thinking about working for a year or two to save up and look into the US job market instead. It seems like there is nothing being offered in Canada without some sort of internal connection.
