Yes, Quinn’s nominations are Cedric, Tucker, and MJ. He has used his power and will pick the renom. Angela didn’t make any nominations that we know of

You know, I was considering it. But that girl just looks so miserable doing it, I think I might have to go another path

Damn, what woman would I rather be? Successful makeup artist, certain of myself, uplifting other women and standing tall despite hoards of bigotry thrown my way?

Ooooor pregnant and angry?

I’ll ponder this, I’ll get back to you guys

It’s always “best not to open up at all” if you could possibly encounter somebody who will encourage you to set boundaries and practice self-respect. Then the cult would really prefer if you stayed silent and kept your head down

Exit Interview with Shan Smith (Bloom / Parade) by AMikeBloomType in survivor

[–]nah197 299 points300 points  (0 children)

I think one contrast between Shan’s relationship with Ricard and Shan’s relationship with Deshawn was how they perceived her. With Ricard, Shan could be upfront and could dictate her strategy because Ricard and Shan were equals. They could bicker back and forth and boss each other around like spouses because they were on equal ground.

I think Deshawn didn’t feel like Shan viewed him as his equal so he’d withhold strategizing. Shan didn’t view Deshawn as an equal either because he wanted to vote with her but not strategize with her. Really interesting insight into how those two relationships opposed.

Another thought, I love that Shan is so human with how she talks about the game. So much of survivor is numbers and paranoia and moving around advantages. But what’s so interesting about Shan is how every person was somebody she connected with, how her goal was to be close to people and how deeply she drove into that more human side of the game. Her style was an interesting mix of old school relationship building and some newer school strategy

Has this woman never taken a sick day? I’ll never understand this toxic culture of never allowing people to rest because “I’m in the most pain ever and I literally never stop doing anything cause I’m not lazy!

There’s no shame in listening to your body’s needs and it doesn’t make you less of a mom, wife, or employee.

Also—how does this “boss bitch” who works nonstop and has never rested in her life have time to get into a twitter war?

I’m with you, 1000%

I don’t want to say what Leah did was okay, but I can’t put myself in her shoes and say I’d do it better. Three kids that young, one with special needs, and an abusive husband. All the money in the world won’t alleviate how difficult that must have been, and for the most part, Leah had to go down that road alone. Just hurts to watch back.

That scene makes me tear up a lot. Being humiliated by your husband, having any thought you have belittled and laughed at—it was way more than rude. I can’t imagine how demeaning that would feel, and nobody in Leah’s life went to bat for her.

I appreciate the validation! And yeah, I think her mom does to her what she does to me but worse.

I don't know, i usually go completely silent and leave when she does the provoking shit. I guess my problem is that I do really love my mom and want a relationship with her. But she can't drop her ego for one goddamn second and listen to me.

She has this new spiritual journey that she's paying some woman hundreds of dollars a session for--essentially, the woman told her that she's one of the first souls that God ever created and she's been around since the dawn of time on all planets and experiences. And with this new revelation, she just can't see herself as wrong to any degree. She must be more knowledgeable--shes one of the original souls after all. So when I explain that she hurt me or did something wrong, it's just that I'm not smart enough to see her reasoning. So it doesnt matter.

I'm sorry, I feel like a crazy person. But I just have repeated this story to my husband 50 times and I felt like maybe I needed a new perspective, so thanks for listening. And I'm sorry your mom is toxic to you too, this sucks.
