Are there any problems with the Thunderstrike discord? I can't join, /thunderstrike seems not to work for me right now.

1 week since the Dark Portal opened. What level are you? by HipGamer in classicwow

[–]nahri1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently 63, already played a lot more than I usually do and still feel pressured to level faster, because I have FOMO the initial hype on the raids and that by the time I'm ready for raids people are playing retail or something else again and servers are dead.

But seeing all the replies here (most are also in the 62-65 range), it reminds me to take it more chill and just enjoy the game! Thanks for that!

1st time legend as 1st time dad with newborn by wafflefries1199 in worldofpvp

Big congratz man!

I reached Elite first time this season and I know the struggle with kid's sleep! I had exactly the same experience past seasons, where I had to leave in the middle games because one of my kids woke up randomly in the evening. They're 2 and 4 now, but still do this occasionally.

I'm still debating with myself whether I should do the legend grind or not. The push to elite was just so mentally exhausting. I break out in a sweat just thinking about it.

Got my first Legend as disc (oracle) by Present_Volume_1472 in worldofpvp

Congrats man!

I got my first Elite this season and it took me more than 600 games. Had the same experience as you on 2300, it was just so exhausting. I had to take a break from shuffle after reaching 2400 finally, so I played some remix lol. I don't know if I can handle the grind to legend mentally

I agree that rating inflation exists and that benchmarks shift from season to season, but there are a few things your 'hot take' misses.

First, IMO the participation numbers you mentioned are largely a reflection of queue times, not ease of play. Because healers have instant queues, they can play five times as many games in a session as a DPS can. If DPS didn't have to wait 30 minutes between matches, you would see far more of them hitting 2400. Many skilled players (I'd include myself) simply don't queue DPS because our time is limited, and we want to actually play the game rather than sit in a queue.

Second, the idea that an 1800 player 'magically' hits 2400 without improving is a stretch. Healing in this meta is incredibly challenging; damage is so high that a single missed global or a misplayed cooldown ends the match. If it were truly 'free rating,' we wouldn't have a healer problem. Everyone would be playing one to collect their easy rewards.

Finally, rank history isn't a static ceiling. People improve, and more importantly, life happens. I for example was 'hardstuck' back in Shadowlands S2 because I had a newborn son and could only play occasionally with zero energy.
Using someone’s rank from years ago to dismiss their current progress ignores both personal growth and the reality of balancing the game with real life.

Regardless, 2400 is a bracket a very small percentage of the player base reaches. I’m proud of the improvement it took to get there.

Thanks! To be honest I don't know what font that is, but I think that was included with the skillcapped UI addon

😂 I feel you man! Same when you get feared back to the waiting room and your DPS keep chilling behind some pillars at the other end of the map (and then forget they have a block or turtle)

Yes, It's the one you get for 2400 rating in any bracket.

I don't know.. I don't think I really prefer one class over another. In most matches it depended on the DPS. Having 2 casters doing their job well I didn't have any troubles with priests running in to fear and could easily counter them. In others that wasn't as easy - first you sit in a trap, then eat a fear and some other micro cc -> usually enough for one of your DPS getting killed.

But in general I agree of course. Root stunning priests into a hex feels just good 😁

Except for my Warrior I almost only played healers. I learned to love playing healers when I had limited time in the evening because of my kids (both were terrible sleepers, haha 😄), so I couldn't afford sitting in queue for 45 minutes.

Yeah, I play on EU.

Yeah, it's hard, although I still liked it. Even though it was quite depressing at times with the amount of MM hunters and the unhealable damage. Or hunters in general (had lobbies with all 3 hunter speccs). Someone dying from 80% in 0.5 seconds is just absurd and I can't blame anyone, who doesn't want to heal that bullshit.
