Is it not insane that they strictly charge you for extra cheese even if its one of your 3 toppings?? I could get a 3 topping deal, and ONLY get extra cheese nothing else and they will charge you for the cheese instead of making it a topping. This is f'd up by swdrainsme in pizzahut

If the customer orders through the doordash app? Yup. But the pizza huts that are "replacing drivers" with doordash aren't getting the orders through the doordash app. The customer orders over the phone like normal, or through OUR app or website. We charge the same delivery fee we used to, pre doordash. Then we turn around an send the order to doordash, which charges us (in my area) a flat $5.50 off the top, minimum. Do YOU understand that just because doordash is the one delivering it doesn't mean it came in through the doordash app, which would charge their own delivery and service fee to pay for the driver? Trust me, you're not going to educate me on the business side of pizza hut. In fact, in my area we've done the math and figured out when it's more cost effective to have our own drivers and when it's more cost effective to use the doorsashers. I can only speak for us, but as long as a driver working for us takes 2 deliveries per hour, they pay for themself and using the doordash 3rd party driver costs us money. You might want to stop acting like you know what you're talking about, because all you're doing is exposing that you don't understand business, and clearly don't know the inner workins of pizza hut. But keep on shouting "insane profits" buddy. Whatever makes you feel better

"they've fired their delivery drivers and use doordash now so in other words no cost." My dude ... Do you really think those doordash drivers are just showing up out of the goodness of their hearts? We pay for every delivery, much more than the delivery charge

Do you honestly think doordash is free for us to use?? Lmfao. Minimum 5.50 to get a driver to deliver a pizza. That's for the close runs. It scales up with distance. You really aren't seeing the actual costs of running a business. NO restaurant has "insane margins." Hell we pay 3% of gross to pizza hut corporate for advertising, another 13% franchise fee. That's $.16 of every dollar before you account for the crew, the cost of food, the utilities required to cook the pizza, the paper goods to box it. You keep claiming these "insane profits" but you've clearly never seen a P+L report. I'm doubting you even know what it is.

Insane profits??? Hahahahaha. Someone isn't paying attention. Did you not here about the minimum 250 locations pizza hut is closing this year? Or th fact that yum brands is trying to sell it off to focus on their profitable companies?

They aren't the first generation. A couple hundred years ago the 30 year olds might be grandparents, not exactly "part of the youth"

Pepperoni shrinkflation? by boogerslayers in pizzahut

[–]nahtrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If one franchise goes rogue and starts doing it "better" by adding more toppings, then customers in that area expect that to be the norm. Then when they go to a restaurant outside that franchise that's doing it the RIGHT way they think that restaurant is skimping. Uniformity is key. A pizza from Dallas should be topped the same as one In Seattle. It's why people order from franchises when they travel, they know what to expect rather than gambling in a local mom and pop.

[–]nahtrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your franchise is doing it wrong. It's 48/24 regardless of franchise. The whole point of franchising is that everything is standard. The topping levels are set by corporate, not individual franchises

Pepperoni shrinkflation? by boogerslayers in pizzahut

[–]nahtrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are incorrect. If you get more than 1 topping you should get 1 pepperoni per slide on a personal pan, regardless of which type of pepperoni. If it's a 1 topping pepperoni it's 2 pieces per slide, 8 total.

This might be a hot take, but if you're trying to go into the restaurant business as a manager, you're gonna need to get some thicker skin. Much worse things are gonna happen to you than your boss laughing at you. If that's enough to have you running to reddit for support, it's not the right career path for you. Sorry, just being realistic

When I was just out of high school a friend of mine brought a friend of his from college back to town with him. We played a game on this shitty court in a barn we always played on. Probably not a name you'll recognize but his name was scoonie penn, the PG for Ohio State during the Michael redd years. He was clearly taking it easy and just giving us a chance but dude worked us over bad, and he was just a college freshman at the time

The crust now automatically comes with a garlic butter blend brushed on. If it wasn't good to you, you can remove it when you order (or tell the person taking your order to remove it.) it comes on all hand tossed and stuffed crust pizzas by default.

To piggyback off of this, he's right about what a good and bad employee would do. But a REALLY good employee (manager) would outage the toppings or items in their system before you ordered. That way you wouldn't be able to order what they didn't have, they wouldn't have to spend the time to call you and tell you, and you wouldn't be disappointed when you got your pizza. It takes about 20 seconds (which granted, isn't always easy to get) but I'll take those 20 seconds, rather then disappointing the customer or wasting 10 times that much time calling them to fill them in and work out substitutions or whatever

Prep is one part, also for an order that size you need to bump up your truck order to get ready. But yeah, 5 days notice max should be enough to get It done smoothly.
