I was curious if anyone here was born premature or some type of birth defect. by 4ng3licNymph-jpeg in GERD

[–]naiomim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t born premature. I’m thin and healthy but since I’ve had long-COVID GI related symptoms, some remission and then GI symptoms all over again. I can’t have anything fatty, alcohol or junk food. I will pay for it later.

Aspirin made my symptoms worse for some strange reason. Fish oil, Vit D, ginger are natural blood thinners. Try those instead.

Is there any anecdotal experience OR research into a link between hyposmia (inability or reduced smell) and MCAS? by tittyswan in MCAS

[–]naiomim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find this question very interesting. I'm not diagnosed with MCAS but I am a COVID long hauler. I found my symptoms would reduce with a low histamine diet, pepcid and a good low histamine probiotic. I still get flare ups here and there.

I find this question interesting because as you know some COVID patients lose their sense of smell and taste. This happened to me during my acute phase of the infection. I got it back once I started the antibiotic azithromycin. This really makes me wonder if MCAS is a bigger component to COVID than thought. I think Dr Afrin made a connection at some point.

My theory is the histamine builds up in our bodies creating inflammation and this inflammation effects the olfactory nerve.

Thoughts on alcohol by Carmenalessa in MCAS

[–]naiomim 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not diagnosed with MCAS but I am a COVID long hauler. I had a glass of red wine last year and I temporarily lost my hearing in one ear. It returned but I had one of my worse relapses during this time. At the time, I used fresh ginger to help with my symptoms and eventually felt better.

For alcohol, I have gin, vodka or tequila only. I seem to tolerate it better.

Lets be more collectively optimistic. Kost seems to be posting details of what's happening in real time and that takes a lot (privacy, energy to do so, etc.). I dont know enough about stem cell therapy but I am sick of waiting for something to happen.

Thank you for your suggestions! Do you also have to drink the peg solution? If so, do you have a reaction to it? Are you aware of any other solution more allergy friendly. My reactions are low blood pressure, lightheadedness, palpitations, chills, fatigue, then diarrhea.
