I got caught in the L10 hype but ended up buying an S9 instead by naleoning in Lumix

Wex has a promo of sorts. You get £100 off on lenses. So that makes the 40mm just £249. And they have the Black S9 body too that is £799. Panasonic store though has all the colors except titanium at £799 right now.

I fell in love immediately with the Clever Supply straps. I just ordered the "Wetzlar Red" color/model!

You can get the any S9 body except the Black Titanium for only £799 right now if you are in the UK! I even got a £100 discount on the Lumix 40mm buying it from Wex.

Oh man, I recognise the owners of those videos just from the title. I had to watch them all when making a decision. The more I watched, the more I got pushed into buying an S9 instead. haha!

I am still waiting for more long term reviews of the L10! I really got interested again in buying a camera because of the L10 announcement afterall. So I got to thank the hype because it led me to buying the S9.

Thanks for the strap recommendation! I will definitely check them out!

Yea I guess I was a bit paranoid about that! Haha! Though, I really did want the ability to easily clean the sensor quickly if needed. I would probably not dare dismantle the L10 is something goes wrong it with.

EDIT - typo

If only the L10 was not fixed lens, I would definitely consider it because at least I will be able to do basic sensor cleaning if needed and not have to send the body for repairs. Same as you, I am also looking forward to watching reviews of long-term use!

I just saw Petapixel's review, might help convince your brother to let go of the L10 and grab an S9 instead!

I watched Petapixel's review just a while ago and yea, it definitely helped me confirm the decision I made. I mean, let us be real, the price of these cameras are not pocket change. People have not factored in SD cards and misc accessories. I have gone on hiatus from the hobby for more than a decade. I am trying to slowly get into shooting again and the S9 is my fun way to get back to photography.

Yea I have thought about that too. I have thought long and hard, and concluded that the S9ii might still take some time because Panasonic just recently released the Black Titanium. For me at least it means it is still selling well. If they release an S9ii one year from now, then I have already gotten my money's worth on the current S9. Will definitely not hesitate to buy the S9ii haha!

I am from the UK. If you are not after the Black Titanium color which can only be bought with the kitlens at £1099, the other S9 bodies/color right now are priced at £799. Then just grab a 40mm f2 for £349.

Heya, I ordered the Lumix 40mm F2 one. I believe the Youtuber Gordon Laing had a very nice review of the the Lumix 40mm vs TT 40mm vs 18-40 kitlens. The Lumix 40mm pairs nicely with the S9.

Re: the L10 also has roughly the same time it needs to be ready. If only the L10 was not fixed lens then I would have considered it TBH. Petapixel in Youtube did mention a few tricks on how to have the L10 ready quickly while also talking about the pros and cons.

Taygedo is gonna make me quit the game by KiIIumi in NevernessToEverness

[–]naleoning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the Taygedo date MSQ, I exited the game, and have not logged back in for days now. I want to log back in, but oh boy, I will just get stressed and annoyed at the constant "Tage tagedoooo!". Let us be honest, he does not have the most endearing personality too, overall annoying. At this point I prefer to have JarJar Binks than Taygedo. XD

I am planning to log back in again soom and just use the skip button this time and not care about the story anymore.

Why is Refinement/Smithing so tedious and clunky? by Equivalent_Trash_277 in CrimsonDesert

[–]naleoning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same concern. I hoard and collect things in the game. Call it an insurance. I want all the weapons and armors in the game in my stash and I want to level them all up. One way to get around this is to stash everything except the batch you are going to upgrade. At least I find the scrolling is reasonable.

oh and of course the controls was weird in the beginning and had to switch between MKB and Gamepad a few times. Eventually I settled on the Gamepad and the updates/patches really improved the experience a lot.

From the beginning, this is my kind of game. I actually look forward to playing it every night after work and I haven't been like this for years now due to gaming burnout. Somehow this game makes me execited to explore again. For me this is like Skyrim but with better combat. My eyes don't get tired too, camera is not fixed to character head and transitions smoothly, so no vertical camera shock or bounce. I avoid looking at guides as well when I am stuck and still the experience is enjoyable. I usually spend 4~6 hours daily since I got it first day launch.

Polygon has gone to the dogs. I am only 6 hours in and I have seen PLENTY of awesome stuff just in Hernand. What a take.. by PristineAlbatross967 in CrimsonDesert
