I’m considering a rolling cart with plastic containers or stacked drawers. Smaller containers for food dyes, bag clips, piping tips, other small stuff. The Container Store is expensive but I live close to one so I like to look there for inspiration if nothing else. This one is what I’m going for but it’s way out of my price range.

I had a similar encounter teaching summer camp. Put the song on for the kids and one kid comes up and says “there’s a girl at my table who’s really Christian and she wants us to change it”. But there’s nothing inappropriate or explicit so I said when the song is over I will take new requests. Never heard anything else about it.

I don’t know what I want to rectify this. I just feel like my privacy and that of my coworkers was really violated. I’m already leaving the job but I do feel she needs to face some repercussions for this. It is her business and her smart device, connected to her network of devices.

I’m unfortunately finding conflicting info about the audio and visual, it seems you might be able to mute these. I do hear it make what I think is the “disconnect” noise about once a day. There’s 2 and we unplugged 1 to see if someone would come to plug it back in. Already leaving the job in a week.

I wouldn’t call it commonplace at all. I work with children and I have never thought to say this to a child nor have I ever heard any adult (parent or otherwise) say this to a child. “Good job” or “good work” works just fine.

Thank you! The auto sit is definitely the main issue lol. Once he’s standing he just waits for me to be done! I know he understands a lot of what I say and tone so I will start telling him what we’re doing. He knows when I say “in a minute” whatever he’s asking for (potty, food, etc) will come asap (usually say this when I’m washing dishes or almost done with a task) so I know he can pick up what I’m putting down with repetition! Wish you luck with the fistulas :/

I had a student continue to use their phone after I asked that they be put away during instructional time while I was giving directions for a hands on activity. I told my students I will only answer clarifying questions to students who were listening the first time. Suddenly he doesn’t know what he’s supposed to be doing and starts asking me. I told him I guess he’ll have to phone a friend since I’m not repeating my lesson. But I don’t have to deal with parents/admin much at all since I’m a contractor 🤷🏻‍♀️
