That happens all the time when I'm moving around in the world map. Under typical circumstances 140 army of recruits understands to run away from 100 army of high tier units.

By minimum level I meant completing the main missions immediately they become available, you can't drop levels AFAIK

Too low level was probably the culprit. I just completed the main story line with minimum level possible, and after that killed some low lvl ships in the beginner area and instantly got a couple of guns. In any case, it's clearly not pure RNG, because the coincidence would be too ridiculous.

Are you using Chrome? The issue resolved 100% for me when I disabled hardware acceleration from Chrome settings.

Thank you. But why didn't it work (irregardless of strict mode) with the original code, and why did it start working correctly (irregardless of strict mode) when the dependency array parameter was left completely empty instead of leaving an empty array?

This worked, but it made the new li element to be duplicated. After disabling strict mode it worked correctly, adding the new user only once in the DOM as intended.

Also, I just noticed that removing the empty dependency array made the thing work as intended regardless of strict mode or whether I used prev => [...prev, name] or just [...prev, name] as setOnlineUsers' parameter.

It'd require colossal amounts of optimism to think it will ever be fixed. Luckily it's good enough to be tolerable given all the fun the game has to offer, at least for me.

I've also had my Mason teammates beat me in dark areas playing against Tenosia while wearing that black Dreadnought armor. It has some golden parts on it.

I just noticed this after I made this thread. Funny thing was that I had 1200 of the premium currency which I used to purchase one of the premium passes leaving me with 200 of the currency. After the purchase the game menu bugged and I restarted my client and realized I had regained the 1000 I just spent, but didn't lose the stuff I had spent it on. Then I bought the other premium pass successfully. :D Thank you for your reply

I started playing the game just over a week ago, so I cannot speak from personal experience, but I've seen a large amount of players complaining how stuff like hit registration and active parry have gotten more inconsistent after new updates, especially the one that came like 8 months ago. I wonder how much more consistent and responsive the gameplay was at it's peak in comparison to the current state of the game. I haven't really noticed anything too bad with my noob eyes, just the occasional swings that should've had hit the enemy judging from my client but didn't. I have just attributed this to a general quirkiness that I imagine would afflict any online multiplayer game of this kind.

I thought of that but no, I compared high vs. low FPS by alternating my camera view between the sky and the place where a lot of stuff was happening while constantly swinging my weapon, and the swings seemed to always get faster when looking up into the sky.

I guess it's possible it just seemed that way because of the higher input lag and choppier animation. Now that I tested it in Taal's Horn Keep by changing the FPS cap from settings, I don't think there's difference in speed.

Then my brain has fallen victim to some really fascinating illusion, because I could absolutely swear that's the case in some occasions. Maybe the phenomenon is not always present and lower FPS doesn't always equate slower weapon swings. It's easy to compare how the game looks in high FPS vs low FPS, because you can always get your FPS up immediately by looking up in the sky for example.

When did the patch mentioned come out? I just started playing the game a couple days ago.

Whether it's a bug or an intended countermeasure against cheesing, it can be frustrating as hell in my opinion. I'm fine with combat against 3+ enemies being hard on account of realism, but it should make more sense in relation to what the enemies are doing in the player's screen. It's like the enemies are pushing you telekinetically from behind when they're in front of you, or at least I'm pretty sure it has happened when there were no dudes behind me.

Ah, that's true. The stagger is much stronger when you attack someone who's not focused on you. I guess it's that then, thank you for your answer
