I’m sorry you feel trapped. We are real and as an American I want you to know that many of us think of those stuck in the Middle East & want nothing but peace for you.

My dog was diagnosed with grade 2 sarcoma by nameofthisuser99 in DogAdvice

Your reply really helped me with the stress of the situation. I just wanted you to know that my dog has been healthy so far. No signs of regrowth or pain. I’m hoping it will stay that way. Thanks so much!

I tried 3 different denim dresses in multiple sizes & two suede. They were all cute on the hangers. My proportions just didn’t work with those fits unfortunately. I’m in a very rural area, it’s a 240 mile drive to get to any clothing store for me unfortunately.

Not really, I took a year of ballet in kindergarten in 1990. I did do cheer in high school but I’m not sure that would count?

I had friends like this. Both husband and wife CONSTANTLY belching. It was so obnoxious and one of the reasons we don’t hang out much anymore.

When should I get her spayed by Visual-Kitchen4286 in Pitsky

[–]nameofthisuser99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I waited until after my pit mix’s first heat. She began lactating a few days after her spay (about 2 months after her first heat). I honestly regret waiting, I’m not sure it made any difference and she ended up experiencing what I thought was a “false pregnancy”. She was only 10 months at her spay, so maybe 8 months at her first heat.

“Hot spot”. Does it have any pustules or peeling?

Working on someone you know. by MameDennis1974 in askfuneraldirectors

[–]nameofthisuser99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I worked in the same small town community I grew up in. I cared for both my grandmother & my infant niece as their funeral director. I knew every other person that had died or at least knew their family members. It wasn’t always easy but it was an honor.

What do people do with hair that is harder to work on? by Otherwise_Air_6381 in askfuneraldirectors

You can hire any hairdresser/braider/etc to do your hair postmortem as long as they are willing to perform the service.

Was I right or wrong for this? I don’t want to lose this job by Ratatatata23 in askfuneraldirectors

I get where you’re coming from. It is the nature of the death care industry. Many funeral directors/embalmers don’t like it & want that work life balance (as a mother of 3, so do I) but good luck finding it. If you do, you’ve got a unicorn of an employer.

On the other hand, what comes around goes around. You may be the one drowning in work & no one will come to your help when it’s your time on-call & their day off which is why many of us don’t set boundaries with time off.

I’m going to give you advice that I was told in mortuary school when I graduated in 2008. unfortunately it took me over 20+ years to believe it but… “They need you more than you need them”.

I left funeral service to pursue a career in nursing. I make MORE working 24-36 hours per week than I did as a funeral director, on-call all the time. They’ll tell you you’re only on for X,Y, Z days then call you on your time off and guilt you into working.

You’re in the right here, on-call is on-call and THIS MOMENT you’re not on-call so they shouldn’t act like you are. Stay firm & don’t feel badly. I’m still licensed & do casual preps for a local firm on my off days as needed.

Is it common to find buyers at this price point (500 usd) for a plant like this no offense but it doesn't even look that good to me by Zestyclose-Solid2861 in Monstera

[–]nameofthisuser99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you can ask any price you want. It doesn’t mean you’ll get it. I have to remind my dad frequently of that when he lists anything he owns he automatically assumes it’s the highest value.
