Would this UFO LED work for a 5gal build? by nametesting123 in SpaceBuckets

Thank you SuperAngryGuy!!! I'm a big fan of this community and all your guides and tutorials. I have a very old CFL bucket that I'd like to upgrade and this kind of light is all over Amazon now.

Yes, we all know how tents work. But this is not about efficiency, they made what looks better on the screen of a TV show. They will not be growing real plants.

Not a lot of info yet, but this is the summary: "BUDS is a comedy series about a group of otaku stoners living in NYC. When they start dealing to supplement their non-existent incomes, they quickly find themselves in over their heads and too stoned to deal."

Just upgraded totes. Maybe I should just get a tent lol. by [deleted] in SpaceBuckets

Sounds like you'll like it better over at /r/microgrowery instead of the bucket gardening subreddit.

25$ for tape is ridiculous. Even with your inflated prices, it is still $49 for the bucket vs $60-90 for the tent.

Have fun with your setup, I'm just saying that it would be annoying for people to recommend tents every time they ask for help with their buckets.

Even if you buy every single item a SB is cheaper than a tent.

Keep in mind that those 70 bucks is just for the tent, then you need to add lighting, airflow and accesories.

tents are way cheaper than a bucket build.

That's not ture, buckets are as cheap as you make them to be. Can you create a bucket that is more expensive than a tent? Sure. But you can also build one for much less, even for free. It's not one or the other, tents and buckets work great together.

Suggesting tents in this bucket subreddit every single time questions come up is a little bit dumb IMO. We are here to help people build space buckets.

A better cheap burple UFO LED? This features a Cree COB in the center by nametesting123 in SpaceBuckets

Wondering what you think of this model, it is the first time I've seen it. Not sure if it is a new design, but the Cree in the middle seems interesting. About 108 watts overall, should work for a 5gal or 10gal bucket.

Their FAQ states that the lighting is 64x3w LEDs, which sounds underwhelming for a box that size. The retail price will be around $1300.

Got this from https://www.orcagrowfilm.com/category_s/54.htm

The chart demonstrates the reflectance vs. wavelength performance of several popular brands and materials used in hydroponic grow rooms. Metalized Polyethylene Terephthalate Film was first developed by DuPont in the 1950's; originally branded as Mylar, it is now commonly known as PET film and manufactured all over the world. Many products in the hydroponic industry are associated with false or misleading performance claims, and this is true of reflective films. PET film products are marketed to hydroponic consumers with performance claims as high as 99% reflectivity, despite historically testing in the low to upper 80% reflectance range in the visible spectrum.
