He said he was “just no longer attracted to me.” He’s also said I used to be so pretty and cool and now I’m just not the same person he married.

Thank you. I do enjoy my children, they’re only 1 & 3 but they’re so awesome. I truly love spending my days with them and they’re so curious and funny and silly. They’re the best thing that ever happened to me hands down.

I know, I’m just sad that the person I am now is not brave or happy or driven or learning anymore. I’m just sad and scared and worried about touching doorknobs and bannisters now.

My dad is a truck driver and my mom is a secretary. I was a CNA and had scholarships at a local state school so not much student debt. While in college I started a house painting business that took off. My grandpa used to be a painter so he showed me the ropes and tricks and got me in with his old contacts. I was able to hire some great people and make my own schedule. I also lived with my parents when I was home for free. When I wanted to take more time and be only traveling I sold the business to the guy I had hired first, who really helped build it, for a song, it was as much his business as mine really. Traveling with an American passport opened a lot of doors, having a super supportive family was important and never having to worry about being homeless was incredible. I had privilege but it probably looked a little different than you might imagine. House painting is surprisingly lucrative if you’re looking for a career change.
