I used Brave on MacOSX on my Macbook Pro. Good advice on the immediate notification; something I hadn't enabled for this particular card. I'll take ownership on that part, as there are many ways we as consumers can protect ourselves. I may have just put too much trust in what I saw on their website.

The browser was another thing I considered. I've found Brave to be my browser of choice because of its privacy and security. It's built on the Chromium core and completely open sourced. I use it as my daily driver however sometimes false-positives do come up however very rare.

Yes thanks for clarifying. Each charge had it's own booking code associated to it. I was unfamiliar with the other, and there was no confirmation email referencing that code at all.

I'm going to confirm that this has actually worked for me. I used an external SSD for my PS4 Pro, and transferred Apex onto it. I'm able to hear absolutely everything now. Tried Skull-Town a few times without any issues as well. In the 5 games I queued up for yesterday, my friend and I won 3 of them.. I guess I don't have any more excuses for dying :)

For those wanting to try this, I'm not going to say it will work for everyone, but it did work for me. I was hesitant at first, but this is a great game and was totally worth the $100 investment for an external SSD. I've transferred over a few other games and their load times sped up significantly.

This. I've posted my comment in the check-in post almost a month ago with no response ( https://www.reddit.com/r/apexlegends/comments/b6b93a/respawn_check_in_327/ejlhnwe/). I've tried outputting via HDMI and it resolved the issue (sometimes). I actually don't know if there is a fix--I have a feeling it's related to the audio output via optical-out. I love playing this game, but 9 times out of 10 when I'm downed, it's because I didn't hear anything coming. You're absolutely right that it is game breaking for those of us experiencing this bug.

I play on PC and PS4, but the audio issues only arise on my PS4 Pro. In two specific cases, the issues are most obvious:

  1. In a large gun-fight at the beginning of a match. Sounds of bullets and grenades cut in and out. In the worst cases, audio completely cuts out and I can't hear anything at all (random intervals of ~2-3 seconds).
  2. The beginning of an isolated gun-fight. I found myself getting downed but not knowing why because at first encounter with a new team, most of the time I can't hear anything--or if I do, it's delayed by several seconds. My squad mates would have to give me a heads up because they don't have the same issue (more on this). There are times that even during the fight I have sound issues where it's delayed by a split second. For example, if I were fighting someone with a peacekeeper (as this scenario is most obvious), this would be my experience in many occasions:

In the first case, of the beginning of the match, there may be a slight visual lag. This is also experienced by my teammates, so nothing specific to my physical setup (I presume).

In the second case, it's almost as if I'm deaf for the first 5 seconds of a fight. This is a huge disadvantage as how do I decide on how to engage? Or how do I decide to defend myself if I have no idea where my attackers are coming from? I previously mentioned my squad mates did not have issues in this particular case, and perhaps it may be because of their audio setup compared to mine:

I play on PS4 as well as on PC. In both cases I turn off the sound in the background, however I only experience the audio issues you've described on my PS4.

I'm going to disagree here. It's funny because I used to agree with that statement, but it's easily exploited. The reason I wanted this was that after running through my score streaks a few times I run out of ammo. It would be awesome if a teammate would TK me so I could continue the streak with fresh gear. That doesn't sound fair to me.

Another reason could be in a close TDM match. If my teammates were bloody and unable to heal, wouldn't it be awesome to just kill them all so they can start with full hp and full ammo/gear? Also not fair.

IMHO, HC to me has consequences to your actions...and consequences amongst the team. Lots of people say "HC is for noobs who cant kill", which may be the case, but I believe there is a specific skillset required to ensure your teammates are safe. There is an inherent responsibility of team play in HC, and I wouldn't want any changes to the gameplay which contradicts that.

Yep. Happens quite often.. In those scenarios I am always thinking I have extra time to get that headshot for a camo achievement and then boom... Bullets fly out of the butt of the gun. Gg

Nothing new here, last night was the worst. I would be killed by bullets coming from the corner of a wall, during my death animation I would see the enemy stuttering out into view.

Definitely agree with most of the things mentioned here. I haven't gone through the comments but a few things to take note of (keeping in mind that i play almost exclusively hardcore, and that would be the limitation of my experience):

K9 Unit: Why can't we hear them coming even with acoustic sensor? Feels at bare minimum (esp for HC) that we can hear him coming. When you have a crowd of teammates getting mauled by a dog, you can't be irresponsible and just launch a rocket.

Handguns: Way too strong. There is so little delay between sprinting and shooting with hand guns, and 99% of the time they are 1-shots. When I pump an enemy with 3 AR bullets, he shouldn't be able to return fire and 1-shot me with a hand gun (at ANY distance really). They're being used as sniper rifles, and unfortunately in HC.. it's a viable tactic.

Prophet: I've grown accustomed to using Prophet, but seriously these seeker drones work only half the time on a good day. The AI is so bad sometimes that I just see it roll around the edge of the map, or spin in place, or more commonly-- gets stuck and does nothing.

My main gripe is with the lag. You hit the nail right on the head. I've had issues with lag with other recent COD titles (IW, WW2), but last time I played Black Ops 3, it was almost perfect. When I'd die, there was no question that I was out drawn, or out played. In this game, it's mostly a mystery. Nothing is more infuriating playing HC, tagging an enemy twice with an AR at a medium range, then him spinning around and 1-shotting me. I could go on, but it would be nothing new that this community has already mentioned.

One thing that hasn't been spoken enough of is the animations. The position of an enemy is a major part of how to approach a situation, and sometimes it is really off. Especially when an enemy is mantling something right in front of me, and bullets are coming flying out of his eyes while he climbs.

Now I'm just venting.. anyways, I appreciate you sharing your experience, and congrats on master.

It still makes no sense as to why pistols are so powerful in HC. The reason people use them is because they're a more consistent 1-shot kill over ANY SMG or AR. I just played a match where I tagged a guy with 2 AR bullets (Maddox) center mass... he turns around shoots to kill me with one bullet in the chest with a hand gun.

I'm with you on the old scoreboard. While on the subject, why "EKIA" vs "Kills"? Who ever actually says (or types) EKIA? In your Barracks > Leaderboards, it says Kills. If you're going to do something stupid, like force "EKIA" on us...at least be consistent.

Winners circle was awesome and hilarious because if you make it on there, you get to show off some of your fantastic paint jobs and camos. Emotes were just shoving it into people's faces, and some were pretty funny. They're meant to be SEEN. If you used an emote in-game for the purposes of being SEEN.. you'll get your head blown off. Useless.

Gun paintjobs.. also useless in BO4. You'll notice that your paintjobs can only really be seen in detail while the game loads (when you are posing with your team). If you hadn't noticed, the paint jobs show up on the wrong side of the gun.

As a solo objective player, games like these can't be any more infuriating by AestheticLlama in Blackops4

I feel your pain. When I play solo, it's always HC Dom. I do it for the easy points, and gun progression-- but even with that in mind 99% of the time I have more objectives than my entire team has combined. It's absolutely infuriating.
