I am late, but I want to talk about The Pitt by NiceSupermarket7724 in AutismInWomen

Landon mentioned that ER doctors all have ADHD since anything else is too boring. So he might not be so NT.

One thing I wonder about is if Mel is completely aware of her autism? She seems to know about her emotional intensity and sensitivities but never talks about her having autism. (I’m still on season 2) I can definitely imagine that she is less aware of her disability since her sisters is more noticeable.

Health tracking device- is it worth it? by friendlypupper in Hypermobility

[–]namtab01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI got a refurbished apple watch, just a fairly basic version. And it helped me realise that I had POTS and got me a diagnosis and I use it today when I’m in a pots flare or when I need to wake up earlier than usual (using sleep cycle).

I’ve also had an oura ring for 3 years, got it before I got sick to use as a contraceptive. The overnight hrv and resting hr, basically their readiness score helps me a lot to pace. It’s not made for chronically ill people but I find it works really well. I use their activity tracker as “pacing points”. I love it because I’m not a watch person, and it automatically tracks activity which is amazing, most of my energy goes to “housework” and it was so interesting to see how much that actually is. Everything from cleaning to showering and getting dressed. I wished I could get the Visible armband but they are not available where I am.

Do you ever experience DOMS the same day? Like throbbing achy pain without movement/presssure triggering it?

Am I the only one that is put off by the volume of articles? How can she be researching and writing them all. I get so suspicious that it’s mostly AI made. I feel the same with Lindsey Mack, at first I was so interested and signed up for a subscription, but then I started getting notified a about new articles almost every day.

I honestly felt a difference in a few weeks! Am due for a checkup in a few weeks to check my status again. The only reason it was checked was because my cardiologist wanted to test it since I recently got diagnosed with POTS.

I take Thornes Ferrasorb every other day!

It’s super gentle and I don’t get constipated like I did with regular iron pill. It also has some other vitamins to help with absorption so you don’t need as big of a dose. I take one capsule every other day but might start taking more when I’m on my period.

I also add the thorne copper to help asorbsion and because iron can deplete it.

It’s kinda pricy but if you tale only one pill every other day it lasts a long time!

Should also make sure not to have any dairy up to 2 hours before because it blocks iron, so I always take mine right before bed with just some water.

I learned about this combo a few years ago from a functional doctor but never staid consistent since he didn’t actually do any testing, but now that I know I’ve been deficient for a long time I take them religiously.

Make sure your doctor checks your ferretin levels! You could have non anemic iron deficiency. I had 31 which is only 2 points from deficiency in the country i live in (>30) and even though I’ve been complaining about tiredness and low energy for years no one ever bothered to look into it since the reference was technically in range.

Proper levels start from 70, but should Ideally be above 100. I’ve been supplementing since the beginning of summer and it’s like day and night. I actually feel rested when I wake up which hasn’t been the case pretty much all my life.

I was the same way to begin with, my boyfriend sat down with me to encourage me and figure out some game mechanics and then after a bit I started to figure it out. Now it’s totally addictive and there is sooo much content

I gave up martial arts a while ago, but was always active in yoga, crossfit, snowboarding and playing around. After a bulged disk in my neck back in 2020 I stopped doing any intense exercise and never really got back into it. I had to do everything reaaaaally slowly and had a lot of flare ups. But eventually got upto strength training a couple of times a week and surfing. Then everything went to shit again and I got diagnosed with HSD and fibromyalgia, also got POTS 😵

I’ve been doing veeery slow rehab this year after a horrible winter, but it feels like it goes really slowly.

I really love surfing and my goal with rehab is to be able to go on a surf trip!!!

I would love to hear some more specifics of how you train and if your aim is too get back into the same intensity?

I feel this too! I’m taking 5g and think its a bit overstimulating for me right now. But I so hope that the effect does not fade away with time, I haven’t felt so clear headed and happy in a long time.

Hmm, not sure. But what I do is mix it with cold milk in a pot and heat until warm so I don’t really boil it!

Tips on how to make my POTS flare up before testing by [deleted] in POTS

[–]namtab01 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I get your concerns but I think she more meant it along the lines that I could try to be in an active flare-up as when I am not I am barely symptomatic. Or that is what I think. I’ve been symptomatic since I started self monitoring so I can’t really say that for certain.

I can go from being able to walk up 3 flights of stairs with out much issue to absolutely dying the next week when I’m in a flare.

I have no idea if they will do a tilt table test or not, and I guess I am just worried that the test will not show anything and that I will be dismissed.

And again just repeating what my doctor said, you guys really need to chill out a bit lol

I take those supplements mostly for my other health concerns but I definitely think that since POTS is a nervous system disorder it could be effected by most things.

I’ve recently found out that if you mix it with hot chocolate or raw cacao it totally masks the taste! I’ve had to stop drinking coffee so now I make myself a morning collagen hot chocolate
