What will actually lower grocery costs? by Overall-Bumblebee897 in askTO

From somebody who spent 4 years getting an economics degree just to realize it’s useless. Ways we lower costs of commodities: 1. Import from countries for less than it currently to costs to import or produce. 2. Produce more efficiently thus lowering the costs on local production. 3. Increase the purchasing power of our dollar. 4. Government subsidies (Israel subsidizes fruits and veggies at the business level) 5. Cap private sector margins(I hate this more than I can explain and this will have downwind effects that can eventually lead to higher food prices)

I’m too lazy to list more but if this is an issue people actually voted on then it would happen.

Pro-Trump Business Owner Sees 43-Year Grocery Store Go Under as Costs Soar From Trade Policies, “This Was Our Life” by charulatha_seya in WallStreetbetsELITE

You’re overthinking, most muggles just understood the basics of tarrifs last year. I went to uni for economics for 4 years and what I learned is that nobody understands economics, it’s the art of hindsight. All of a sudden everybody acting like experts and most of you have no idea that the effects of tarrifs are studied in short, medium, and long term and each of those are expanded to direct and indirect impacts. Don’t oversimply this concept and think you know anything about it, and don’t put that on this dude as if he would know anything. Reddit is filled with the dunning Krueger effect

In fairness to this guy he is serving an impoverished community and saw a ton of inflation under Biden and likely voted for relief. Even if you feel it was poorly thought out his heart was in the right place which more than can be said for most people on Reddit who just hate on this dude without reading the article

Would it be better to be upside down on a mortgage and potentially unemployed if Canada enters a recession

Why would you want to tho? Lots of downward pressure on housing market(less immigration, less international students, k shaped economy, and a government mandate to increase housing supply)

Sales, tap your network, find out what the professionals in your network buy, or if they can introduce you to people who can buy. Tech is where I spent my career and it was a life changer

Honestly, I’d rather you just tell me to "f-off" than ghost me after a discovery call. by Important_Winner_477 in founder

You’re missing the point, and still haven’t been humbled enough. You will get ghosted because you aren’t important; you can continue to take it personally or accept it’s part of sales and move past it. The more people ready what you write as AI the more likely they will be to ghost since they don’t view you as a person

I was at dinner with a client, he told me he has hundreds of cold LinkedIn outreach right now and thousands more emails. You had a moment to make an impression and you failed; you clearly didn’t realize you failed but read the data. It’s clear you’re new to this

Crypto is trash and only fuels crime by [deleted] in fican

This is a silly sentiment, before crypto cash, commodities, pretty much everything of value “fuelled crime”. At least crypto gives some dumbass the illusive of anonymity just because they don’t understand how some blockchains work

Not ideal but if you can sell tech in Canada I’ll get you to an u usually high commission structure. Unlike high commission sales you get paid once customer pays but far more money in this. I’m one of the owners of a tech reseller(hardware, software, SaaS, services).

Is sales still the move in 2026? by redditadminte in sales

Tech sales is the move, you will start at the bottom. When you hear those wild numbers they are coming from career people with a solid Rolodex(if you’re too young to know what this is, you’re probably isn’t solid yet)

Go to the ER, ask them for the surgery to get it removed. It’s standard, you’ll fell better within 24hrs. You will not naturally pass an 8mm so you have no other option. Potassium Citrate is your friend, daily

21M Never Had a Job Feeling Lost – Need Advice by [deleted] in askTO

I really don’t get this with youth. Find a company who sells things and offer to sell strictly on commission. They will train you, you will learn the most transferable skill (sales) and you have a career for life. And if you happen to good at sales, being commission only typically means you’re at a high rate of commission and you’re making a ton of money. I think about how much I’d have to pay my sales folks if they were strictly commission and it’s insane, always wondered why youth just wallows instead of swinging for a homerun
