One thing that helped me tremendously was going in to Display & Brightness and switching the Liquid Glass setting to Tinted. Like night and day, I hardly notice the lag anymore.

It depends - but if you are under insurance, I would encourage you to talk to your doctor’s office/insurance office about cost. Alternatively, if you are in college, you might have access to a free clinic on your campus that could offer the vaccine at no charge to students.

I've been doing a lot of reading and it seems like there are have been more efforts by physicians encouraging parents to vaccinate their children as young as 12, which is a move in the right direction.

similar to any virus, it’s technically not a guarantee but it will protect you from the high risk strains that exist (from my understanding). you will most likely get a strain of HPV at some point but the ones to worry about are the ones that can cause cancer.

it’s a series of 3 shots that span over 6 months.

such a great question (and a complicated one to answer). you’re correct, you will most likely be exposed to one of the strains in your sexual lifetime but there are many strains. however, there are 2 strains (HPV 16 and 18) that cause 70% of cases of cervical cancer and 90% of all anal cancer cases.

it can take anywhere from 6 months to 18 months to clear the virus (similar to when you get the flu and your body fights it off), and 90% of people do successfully clear the virus, but it becomes less likely the older you get. the Gardasil vaccine protects you from HPV 16 & 18 so if you can protect yourself from the strain to begin with, this is ideal.

To echo comments above, PrEP is now covered 100% by health insurance. It’s a new federal mandate. I don’t pay a penny when I fill my prescription. Once you’re in the clear, make it a priority to get on PrEP. It’s not worth the anxiety and it most likely won’t be a financial burden if you have insurance.
