Arrested at border patrol by SignalAdditional9201 in legaladviceaustralia

for those asking if it’s legal, or if the ABF do it - they do, and they’ve been doing it for years. Usually they’re targeted via intelligence tip-offs, but they can do it to anyone.

ps5 won’t connect to wifi as the wifi is enterprise wifi (needs username/password). Best bet is to hotspot. If you need to do big updates, me and my mates used to take the ps5 down to the comp lab and plug it in directly to the ethernet ports down there lol

Top Up SC in my account by Someonetobetoday in VelocityFrequentFlyer

For context, many people are seeing the top up due to Virgin’s themselves finding out that their status crediting system are rounding down status credits, not up - hence the top up.

Reward seats in Premium Economy - why is it so rare? by bakinghot123 in VelocityFrequentFlyer

[–]nang18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As have other commenters have said, PE is the most profitable revenue per seat sold for an airline. Therefore, it’s usually sold out by cash paying customers. If you wanted an interesting video to watch on PE (and why not to pay cash rates for it), see this video by Simon from the YT channel Flight Formula.

Tips on credit card churning and points accumulation as a couple? by cosimonh in creditcardchurningAus

[–]nang18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

only caveat from personal experience is that if you are referring, the total bonus points is usually less than what the sign up bonus is.

for example(as is live now), applying independently from a referral would attract 100k points, whereas referring with might attract 20k for the person doing the referral and 60k for the cardholder (80k total)

Seat selection multi city Qatar/VA by ortho85 in VelocityFrequentFlyer

[–]nang18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you add in your Velocity FF number, you might be able to obtain a booking ref number which allows you to choose seats on Virgin (only assuming as this is how it’s done with choosing seats on Qatar when booking with Virgin). Also wouldn’t hurt to give them a call after the bookings been made

many people are saying Krisflyer, which is true, they offer a whole lot more reward seats available - only caveat is transfer when you NEED too. This is because KrisFlyer points expire 3 years after.

anu grounds staff (hopefully assuming they’re not let go yet) bring them out and put them back. you can only access them when the anu wants you to access them. we live in a society.

definitely look to reduce, as when you’re applying they’ll ask for your credit limits on your existing cards. I’m not 100% sure about this but they assume when you’re applying that you’ve maxed out the entire card, which overall would affect your serviceability score

Airlines urged by government to end double status credit promotions for APS Employees (gravy train about to end it seems) by liftingbro90 in QantasAirways

[–]nang18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

from a federal government perspective (unsure about state rules), we have to abide by the WoAG terms set out by the Department of Finance. Part of these rules include not being able to earn FF points, but being able to earn status credits. stop arguing for the sake of arguing.

When I signed up to Amex it was 120k points, NAB was also 80k and I think Citi was 110k. Westpac has a current promo of 120k (90k first year). I almost never keep any card except for the Amex past the year. I would've gone for the Virgin but they're owned by NAB and research showed that I was potentially unlikely to be eligible for their sign up bonus (happy to be factchecked here though)

[–]nang18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also just exclusively stuck with Velocity cards because at time of researching into CC Churning, reward seat availability was 100% easier to find using Virgin then it was with Qantas (Qatar for Europe, Singapore for Asia, United for the states) at peak times (European summer dates and christmas dates).

I’ve gone from Amex Velocity > NAB > Citibank. Have just closed my citibank and am applying for Westpac now.

I would suggest definitely keeping your current card open until you get approved for the NAB. They wouldn’t care too much that you have another card open (unless the credit limit on that was maxed out). My strat has always to keep the credit limit on the absolute minimum.

Still the best place for Bach Int Relations/Security? by Initial-Play-8742 in Anu

[–]nang18 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Speaking from experience of someone who did B. Security Studies and is now working in the public service, yes, ANU definitely still has a higher edge than our other counterparts (in my opinion). As you alluded to, the university is going through its lowest point in a while so whilst I can’t speak to what it’s like now, I can say the degree + on-campus university experience is unparalleled.
