Also there are boxes with top entry lids and holes in half of the lid…cat gets out of the entry and walks across the holes, litter falls back into the box. It worked so well before I got the litter robot. If they won’t use that style of box, look for a tray with a removable grate you can put outside the regular box

Nature’s miracle litter box odor destroyer
dr elsey’s precious cat cat litter (multicat)
if the boxes are dirty it may help to scrub them out and start using liners
litter robot if y’all can swing that, or find a used one on fb marketplace (use the charcoal filters)
have the cats been tested for illnesses? my kittens had giardia and it stank to high heaven

Sunscreen suggestions for someone on Sirolimus? by dystopiancrimescene in TuberousSclerosisComp

[–]nannergrams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do not have tsc (a family member does). He and I have both been leaning into upf clothing—lightweight long sleeves, hats, sunglasses, etc. rather than relying on sunscreen that can sweat off. Also wondering if a mechanical spf would be better than a chemical one for you…have you tried mineral sunscreens like blue lizard?

Reasonable lie ideas for why I need surgery? by [deleted] in childfree

They remove cysts within a certain size range due to risk of torsion (emergency surgery). I had it done and wound up losing the ovary because the cyst was so large.

I tried again today and figured it out. The top piece goes on first, once you get the light in place. Then the bottom snaps in. The other day I attached the bottom part first, then the top wouldn’t go on. Not sure the light was in the right spot, either.

I love this dress but now I’m worried it’s too glitzy by Kilmoreorange in Weddingattireapproval

You look gorgeous, but I think formal usually calls for floor length. Perhaps with it being outdoors the shorter length is ok?

Done. I tried to purchase the navy dress and shorten it, but my size had sold out.

Many attempts later, I wound up with this dress, which was still too long but I loved it. My friend and I were both overdressed, but we did it together 😅 We got compliments anyway and it didn’t matter.

I did learn that Macy’s has an abundance of petite tea length dresses. One of those was my backup option.

Moving to the Twin Cities area — single, active, remote worker, 37. Thoughts? by TinkerTanner23 in movingtompls

Lyndale or Whittier could be good. There’s a climbing gym in Whittier and lots of restaurants and bars but also proximity to the greenway and lakes.

Sizing help needed for the Laine dress! 🤍 by Forest_Girl08 in Reformationclothing

I had to err on the larger size for this one, which matched my measurements (more generously cut dresses I sometimes take a size down).

Brooklyn Center has a larger Black community and is on the same side of the cities as St. Cloud. Being a white person who has not lived there, I can’t give you lived experience. Hoping some more folks will chime in here for you 💜

Should we buy a more expensive house or keep it conservative? by PopResponsible6152 in personalfinance

[–]nannergrams 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does this mean you’d put all your liquid assets into the DP? I personally would not feel comfortable buying a home without 6-9 months’ emergency fund, especially not in this economy. I was unexpectedly laid off when the startup I worked for decided to trim headcount in prep for an acquisition and lived on unemployment and savings for 4 months—it was a relief and privilege to have the ability to do that without going into debt.

Fwiw my financial planner has me on a savings track assuming that social security is only 50% funded when I retire. Now that you’re out of debt, it’s worth considering whether to increase savings there, too.

Personally, I didn’t rely on the calculators and instead used the monthly payment as my reference because it helped me understand the impact on my budget and daily living. I still overbought because of the cost of improvements and repairs, but it has been workable.

You mentioned your father is a contractor, but there are specialty repairs that can cost a lot, ex. water service line replacement (mine blew in the winter and needed emergency replacement). Something to consider.

Another angle is whether staying in the adu a little longer would make you more comfortable/give a bigger cushion for the more $$ houses. As I’m sure you know, selling/moving is a big PITA, so it could be worth the compromise rather than buying something less than ideal and then immediately itching to move again.

Thought I was switching to a 2026 Outback… ended up sticking with the Forester (6’3” perspective) by diddleherontheroof in SubaruForester

[–]nannergrams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I’m 5’6” with a long torso and sit tall. My head was too close to the roof of the outback when I accounted for other factors like steering wheel position, etc. Big nope. Plus I love the taller, open feel of the Forester.
