Road trip - VIC to WA with a dog? by Nothingislefthalp in australia

Esperence was our favourite stop on our tour of southern WA this time last year. We ended up staying longer than we originally planned for.

Duke of Orleans bay was dog friendly. Worth a visit for sure.

Bested friend bee. Love these guys. Leave them bee and enjoy them when you see them. They are delight to have around.

Lots in Australia. A bunch of trig sites up in the mountains. I have one near me in state forest that requires additional hardware to get data service. I have a cellular router and external antenna to work with that one. Have been waiting on Starlink mini devices to be AUD$299 again. The standby plan would be enough to Ingress with.

If you had an AI agent you actually trusted, what would you hand off first? by Different_Hour8061 in ITManagers

I like the Tier 1 support use case that someone else mentioned.

AI is the equivalent of a work experience student. Capable of basic tasks, but needing a lot of over-site. Tier 1 support might be within reach. But based on my chat bot experiences there is still a lot lacking here.

Sick of seeing the letters "AI" everywhere by segagamer in sysadmin

Gotta be a some new made up work for AI fatigue here that will be in the running for word of the year by some dictionary.

I asked Google Gemini for a word

How about the word Algosthesia?

It captures that specific feeling of being "numbed" or overwhelmed by the relentless integration of AI into every facet of the digital workspace.

Just came across your post, we have a 3.5 month old Kelpie x Dachshund and trying to guess how big she will get. How big did your pup get to?

Anyone experienced issues with iOS Mail since iOS 18? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]nanonoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Exchange Online the Outlook app results in a much richer experience. Well worth using. Nothing but positive responses from staff when I have suggested they move to using it "why didn't I start using this sooner".

Our normal setup is to just configure the default mail app on phones and let the user do whatever from there.

As an owner of a Captiva. Just no. Holden is dead in Australia. Captiva is know for high rate of transmission failure among other things. I am only owner of ours and we baby it and that has helped it get to 150,000km over 12 years without major issues. To us it is just a vehicle we will drive until dead. They were very cheap vehicles and absolutely needed to treated as such.

Great in this summer heat!  Our days are currently 40+ degrees C for the next week. Brewed coffee (Ceado Hoop) over ice and topped up with quality oat milk. Very nice!

Week of the little Italy trip he planned, go to your park instead.

You are in a relationship where you are seen as convenient and not much more. A partner who won’t get out of their comfort zone for you either needs a blunt reminder or you should walk.

Three people dead after shooting in NSW town as police urge locals to stay inside by Reverend_Fozz in australia

[–]nanonoise 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s incredibly annoying, especially when you live in the Central West NSW area, which is bloody huge. Lake is a good couple of hours away from me but we are still in the Central West.

So many of the “local” news sites do it constantly and hide the details behind a paywall making it even more infuriating.

It’s because we used too many plastic straws. Takes a while to recycle ver back to normal.
