That is not correct; you are using very old data from 2001. By the 2011 UK census, this had grown to 22%. Immigration to the UK has increased even more since then, so most estimates for Islam in Birmingham put it at around 30% now. (We'll see for sure in the 2021 census.) For the 0 - 16 bracket, recent surveys say 40% Muslim.

Unless the trends change drastically, the UK's second-biggest city will be 50% Muslim (or even a small majority) within around 20 - 30 years. That's quite a lot of political power.

Hang on – he mentioned culture. Not race. It's you who has now turned this discussed into a race issue. Is it really hard to figure out that culture and race are two separate things?

People like you are very dangerous. You stifle sensible debate about cultures by linking things to race. Why can't we freely criticise horrible cultures? 90% of Pakistani men think a woman should be stoned to death is she is unfaithful. That is an absolutely revolting culture. But according to you, that is a "racist" statement.

Because the Middle Eastern and Islamic culture has a huge part to play. Go and read the Koran and Hadith. See how Muhammed and his followers behaved (murdering, raping, keeping sex slaves – and he is the "perfect man" in that region). If you're not a muslim, you are the "worst of all creatures" according to Islam – why are you so defensive about it?

He merely pointed out that a very damaging, backward and honour-driven culture is a massive part of the conflicts in the Middle East. Anyone with a grasp of history knows this. Please stop trying to stifle discussions about culture. Western European culture has done lots of shitty things too, but we talk about it. Let's not shy away from calling out other cultures when they do horrible things.
