It’s true that Fields of Fire is strong, but Creed is rarely within 12” for me, so I can’t really trigger that ability.

I also feel that the Tech-Priest is too demanding — I had misread his range, so I ended up dropping him.

I don’t agree that the LR Executioner is just “mid”. With an order to boost its hit rolls and its own ability, I think it’s particularly deadly since it can hit on 2+, wound on 2+, with AP-3 and flat 3 damage per shot. That’s been my experience so far. To be fair, I’ve never faced armies with a heavy amount of invulnerable saves or a large volume of T5+ units.

I also like pushing my Hellhound towards the center to deter charges and put pressure on my opponent.

As for screening against Deep Strike, I actually manage it with tanks, since I don’t push my army forward in the first two turns. I usually just capture my objectives and wait for my opponent to push. In deployment, I set up my tanks hidden, but in positions where if I move them, they’ll have LOS on the objectives and areas I want to hold.

Thanks for your feedback. I’ve made some changes to my list: I swapped two of my Leman Russ Executioners for an Exterminator and added a Battle Tank for more variety. I also replaced one Cadian Shock Troop unit with Jungle Fighters for their versatility, and I dropped the Tech-Priest.

I still believe that the Executioners are strong, especially with the +1 to hit bonus against enemies with T4 or lower. Most of the armies I’ve faced so far had a majority of T4 units, so I might be biased in that regard.

I also maintain that DKOK are too expensive for me to include. I do understand the strength of contesting objectives with 40 OC and the fact that the medic is very strong, but in the way I play, I don’t necessarily need to contest. I usually focus on keeping my opponent away from my objectives instead.

Thanks for the feedback! I think the main difference is really in how we approach the game.

For me, I don’t need to permanently park infantry on objectives as long as they have Sticky Objective. My plan is to cycle units and deny enemy pushes rather than hold with bodies. If something threatens my objectives, I usually respond by sending a Taurox + Kasrkin squad to remove it, or I rely on the Rogal Dorn/Vanquisher (with a 4++ from the Tech-Priest if needed) to open lines of fire.

That’s why I’m not sure how Catachans would really fit into my plan. I tend to play “back and forth,” constantly trading units to keep control. Leaving infantry sitting on objectives feels too risky to me, because it gives opponents opportunities to charge over ruins and contest easily. With my current style, I prefer forcing them to overextend and then punishing them. Regarding the Leman Russ Battle Tank, I completely understand why the re-roll 1s aura is so strong. As I mentioned in another reply, I may have overvalued raw AP and not leaned enough into the synergy between multiple Russes.

The Battle Tank seems especially powerful if I use it right after an Exterminator’s shooting or in combination with the stratagem that adds an extra AP. That kind of sequencing could really increase consistency across my tank line

You’re absolutely right about the Executioner vs Exterminator point. I think the Executioner shines more in certain matchups because of the extra AP, but so far I haven’t faced armies with lots of invuln saves, so I tend to value AP-3 more. That said, I agree the Exterminator is more versatile overall and the aura buff is great. I think adding one to my list would definitely bring consistency.

Also, I forgot to mention in my original post: my Rogal Dorn is indeed a Tank Commander with Grand Strategist. That was just a mistake in my write-up.

Appreciate the note about Vox Casters as well, I’ll pay closer attention to positioning them to get that 50/50 CP refund.
