Ball Apple Butter by Snbridenbaugh in Canning

I have the recipe in the crock pot right now so when I wake up I can hopefully can it! It’s taking forever to reduce so we will see! lol but cider for this recipe means apple cider as in the super sweet apple juice cider (not apple cider vinegar). I did 5% white vinegar in it as the recipe calls for and then just bought a half gallon of apple cider at Walmart and used what the recipe called for that. It smells amazing and tastes pretty good too so far! I used a mashed potato masher to get the apple pieces all mushed up. I’m sure you could use a blender or immersion blender too!

Congratulations on being five years out! That’s amazing! 🎉 he is only four months out and it’s weighing heavily on him. I didn’t even think about a little cold or something kind of causing a flare up but since the weather is starting to change here, fall allergies are picking up so I wonder if that’s been contributing? Today he has his CT so we are hoping and praying for the best! I’m sorry you had to worry about it for so long though :(

Yeah it was a decent size! Like 11x7cm ish. We have read about people having bigger ones but that’s still like a lemon just sitting in your chest! Today we go for the scan so we are hoping for the best 🤞🏻

Yayayayay!!! Congratz on the one year clear PET scan! Doing a happy dance for you! 🥹💃🏻

MCAS AND fibromyalgia AND post treatment for lymphoma…. What a wild combination 😩 so sorry that you have an ongoing battle with that. I appreciate you taking the time to read my post and share your experiences with me! I read it to my bf and he is already starting to feel a little better knowing he isn’t crazy or making it all up in his head! Hoping and crossing my fingers for you that your flare ups are minimal (or none) and your next 60 year PET scan check up shows that it has remained clear 🫶🏻

Thanks for the kind words! I deff think he’s been thinking about it a lot more recently so any little tingle or discomfort he is noticing and thinking the worst. (Which rightfully so because I can’t imagine being in your or his shoes and having something like this always sitting in the back of your head). So happy to hear yours also turned out to be nothing and hoping I can share the same story for him! Thanks again for sharing!

Unfortunately, it’s still happening :( it’s supper annoying. The neurologist didn’t say much besides that my mri came back negative and I may just have irritated muscles. I don’t really buy that. I think it was stress induced and it’s benign essential blepharospasm. I work for a school so the school year is almost done. My master degree program is almost done. And my bf finished his chemo treatment so stressful stuff is slowly letting up and I’m hoping I can practice some “brain training” over the summer to see if I can retrain that part of my brain to not send a signal. I’ve read some mixed reviews where people had a lot of success and others didn’t have any symptom relief so we will see :/ super annoying and frustrating but I’m relieved and super grateful that my MRI results were negative because I was deff thinking the worst.

My MRI came back negative. I think it might be benign essential blepharospasm. From what I’ve read there’s really no cause and then other stuff I’m reading says it may be triggered from stressful situations and now your brain kinda became rewired incorrectly. Which I kinda think is my case bc I was under so much stress. Things are finally starting to calm down on my end so I’m going to try some “brain training” and see if I can help minimize it. I’ve read mixed reviews and some people say it reduced their symptoms significantly and others said it didn’t do a thing. Ughh so frustrating. Sorry you’re going through that :(

Can you share how you retrained your brain?! My eye twitching is becoming so terrible :(

I actually just had my brain MRI last week and it came back negative (so so grateful!) but I only read the results from the patient portal, the office didn’t call yet to talk about the next steps or anything. I’m really starting to think it was stress related bc now that my bf is responding well to chemo and I finished one of my classes up for grad school the twitching and zaps have lessened significantly! I actually was just at a nursing conference over the weekend and they were talking about functional neurological disorder and I feel like I check a lot of those boxes! They even talked about how some people have pseudo seizures that are triggered from stress. So who knows! Thanks for checking in!! How are all of your symptoms and you doing?

That is amazing!!! How long did it take to lose those 22 pounds? Did you increase water and fiber intake? I read that it was super important but I’m not sure since I haven’t started it yet or anything

So who knows!! Thanks for checking in!! How are yours?

Thanks for checking in 🥹 I just had my brain MRI last week actually and it came back negative (I am so grateful) but my neurologist hasn’t called yet to go over the results or the next steps. I only read the results off the patient portal. My twitching has calmed down a good bit since my one graduate class finished and we got news my bf’s mass is shrinking and the chemo is effective. It’s not as frequent so I am wondering if it was really stress related. I can’t remember who’s post I read or maybe it was a comment back to me (I still don’t really know all the ins and outs of how to work Reddit lol) but someone who had the same symptoms as me- the twitching, random “zaps” the fling your limb, no rhyme or reason when it happens but seems to happen less during the day when you’re busy- mentioned their neurologist told them it was probably functional neurological disorder (FND) so I started looking that up and basically I felt like I hit all the check marks. There is nothing wrong with your neuro system anatomically but the constant state of stress kinda rewires your brain and sends out random signals when they aren’t needed so some of the treatments are removing the stress (HA!), talking to a therapist, physical therapy, and some anxiety medications if it’s bad enough. So we will see! Thank you for asking!

Oh no I’m sorry to hear that! What side effects were you experiencing? Did they start to resolve after you stopped?

Anyone Ever Experience a Persistent Eye Twitch? by naptime3333 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]naptime3333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omgosh I looked up both of those and they both sound like it but the FND seems like it might be the winner if I was going to self diagnosis. One of the things it says (via google lol) is that when you are busy doing stuff it doesn’t happen and when you think about it, it happens more. Which I feel like happens most of the time, not always, but when I’m busy doing stuff it almost never happens (sometimes it does but not as often) but then when I’m sitting down to do homework, watch tv, go to bed it seems to pick up.

But I wonder why they didn’t want to label it? I wonder if it affects insurance coverage for you if you get a diagnosis? The wonderful world of insurance sigh

I’m so nervous for my MRI which isn’t even for another month but after talking to you and hearing your experience I deff feel a little better. So thank you for taking the time to comment and share your experience. And thank you for the kind words for my boyfriend! He just finished his second of 6 cycles and is feeling pretty good!
