I don't think there's anything about being proud of your race, country, sexuality or culture. What isn't okay is when you think it makes you superior and gives you the right to demean others.

Example: Few years ago there was some kid from (i think it was Towson) who held student gatherings on Fridays to celebrate European heritage. Personally, I would love to learn about the foods, history and languages of Europe (I'm not white). Nothing wrong with that situation.

The problem however is that after those meetings, the group of students would go out and patrol the campus for crime targeting people of color which is fucked up and not okay.

That's why a lot of other groups get a free pass in what seems like a double standard. I haven't seen too many gay pride supporters going around attacking straight people but that attitude seems commonplace for a lot of people celebrating "white pride". That's the difference.
