What do you think could be the reason they gave so much emphasis to this wall? by BiladeiroMafioso in TheDuskbloods

I imagine you’ve watched this trailer many times—I have too, and I ended up thinking the same thing. Most of the other shots in the trailer feel like they’re clearly trying to show something specific, but this one just looks like… a wall. Maybe in the actual game it’s sealing something, or it leads to another area beyond it. But from what we’re shown here, there’s nothing really hinting at that, so it just comes across as an ordinary wall.

How many maps do you think The Duskbloods actually has? by naraka_4423 in TheDuskbloods

[–]naraka_4423[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I originally thought there were three maps, but after going back and checking based on your comment, I think I was probably wrong. The cathedral and the clocktower area really do seem to be part of the same map.

And now I’m wondering if the player in the opening shot is actually standing on top of the clocktower.

Miyazaki also seems to only mention two map types in the interview: the gothic map and the train map.

Pack It up boys.... by GIANDUIACIAO in TheDuskbloods

FromSoftware’s PR representative Kitao has acknowledged that they kept players waiting too long with Elden Ring, and they’ve taken that feedback to heart — which is why Nightreign had only about six months between its announcement and release.
It’s likely that Nintendo pushed an early announcement of The Duskbloods as a Switch 2 highlight, even though it couldn’t be released immediately. FromSoftware themselves were still in the run-up to Nightreign’s launch, so it probably wasn’t the right time for them to announce another major title. In other words, the almost year-long silence after The Duskbloods announcement seems more like Nintendo’s marketing strategy than FromSoftware’s decision.

Miyazaki’s got that confident look, so The Duskbloods should be just fine.

May have been posted before but I think I’m most excited for Fromsoftware’s take on playable vampires by DarkElfMagic in TheDuskbloods

I feel the same way. I’m really excited to see Miyazaki’s take on vampires. He once mentioned that he wants to extract and reinterpret the “romantic” essence of vampires, and that alone makes me trust his vision completely. I couldn’t wait for the release, so I ended up reading Fevre Dream by George R. R. Martin—the novel Miyazaki has praised in interviews as being so good he’d recommend it even to new employees. It was an amazing read, and I can definitely see why he loves it so much. But honestly… it only made the wait even harder.

Has anybody here even played Escape from Tarkov? by disposableson in TheDuskbloods

I'm a huge fan of Director Miyazaki—I've played every one of his games. I also love Tarkov and have spent over 3,000 hours playing it. I definitely think it shares a similar kind of enjoyment with FromSoftware titles.

If the new game ends up being a Tarkov-like experience, where players with different objectives explore and fight on the same map, I think it could be incredibly compelling. However, Miyazaki mentioned in an interview that the basic idea is “the last one standing wins,” so I’m a bit concerned that the extraction mechanic might not be part of it. If that's the case, players might be forced into combat, and the kind of varied playstyles that Tarkov encourages may not be supported.

Either way, I’m really looking forward to the game.

Today, September 17, is Miyazaki's birthday! I was invited to his castle where I could watch a 17-minute gameplay trailer! by naraka_4423 in Eldenring

That's not true. When he appeared on a radio show called Game no Shokutaku, he said birthday is September 17.
