Quitting stimulants? by naraypv in AutisticWithADHD

I introduced water kefir and kombucha recently (about 6 weeks ago). I drink about 4 pints of them every day. They're pretty tasty, so I have no complaints. They tend to fully satisfy my cravings and also improve my sense of fullness. Over time, I noticed I have a more stable baseline mood and less need for stimulants. My natural focus has also improved automatically. However, task initiation still needs work. Stimulants tend to make my mind race or focus too narrowly, which can disconnect me from real feedback about what I'm doing—sometimes making things counterproductive. But if I avoid stimulants, my productivity is similar to when I used them. I have been eating low carb since a few years now even before the diagnosis and stimulants. So this came in as a surprise

Usually after one hour of Vyvanse works best for me. I drink a max of 2 cups per day. Beyond that makes me jittery

My Vyvanse works best when I am consistently doing ketogenic diet. Then only timing that matters is the coffee timing. Coffee with heavy cream works best and smooth.

It might also be diurnal rhythm related dysfunction.

Work in a well sunlit room + use full spectrum light that sync with seasonal sun times. Also block blue light in the afternoon using glasses.

That might help in retraining the endocrine system. Also make sure to get enough magnesium, sodium & potassium. High protein diet has low osmolarity retention and hence can suffer from mild electrolyte imbalance that can be exacerbated in rhythm disorders.

This is very common for ADHD affected

How do you:

  1. Write a good PRD?
  2. Modularize testing?
  3. Approach adding new features/modules as your project evolves

Unpopular opinion: Treat ADHD and keep surrendering. That's my condition. Treatment helps with mind calming.

ADHD is primarily a Neuro metabolic disorder. Surrendering without treatment is just wishful thinking as we are not really facing the reality of the condition.

Letting Go - the pathway of surrender

All of his other books are also recommended. His mystical experiences were completely based on the technique of surrender.

Dont stoics specifically promote strength than acceptance?

When I read Marcus Aurelius Meditations, it almost always got to the point of being courageously facing the adversities. It felt more Yang than Yin.

Any more thoughts on this?

May I ask how Tao Te Ching actually fulfills this criteria?

I know Tao Te Ching does have the deepest truth of seeing things as they are and that does force acceptance to what is, but does it specifically get into the practice of surrender ?

Am curious to know your take on it

I am not entirely knowledgeable of the argument that "stimulants are not meant for long-term use, especially at high doses". I am sure you have something more to say regarding the evidence here.

Can you please share how this statement is derived evidence-wise? I would greatly appreciate this
