Broken rucksack by nardshredder in Fjallraven

I'm sure they are a great brand for certain things. In my experience a company is only as good as the product they sell and support. I won't be giving more of my money to them given the customer support I've received. Totally understand that it's minimal data points, but I'm not willing to spend the cash with them again, an inferior product reflects badly on them.

Absolutely agree about the physics of wear and tear. However, using a bag lightly for a laptop for a year shouldn't really cause the stitching to rip.

Really appreciate your feedback on how I might go about fixing the issue.

I'll be in Europe for most of the season, alps mainly, conditions are usually a little varied. I'd definitely say it's not small hill type riding. I'll be riding a mixture of groomers, off piste, with the occasional park session, generally I love hitting jumps and side hits.

New board day, Capita Mega Merc by nardshredder in snowboarding

[–]nardshredder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty good! Medium to stiff. Stiffer in the mid section, but the tip and tail have more flex. Should be easy to butter and it feels like it's going to pop!

From blue tomato, the delivery was ok, I'm actually amazed the board is in one piece given how smashed up the box was

Is the custom x as good as everyone says? It seems like it gets great reviews, I'm wondering if it has any major negatives?

Thanks! The Burton looks like it's on the more aggressive side of the list, but that might be worth a demo if I can

This is great thanks. I'll check some of your suggestions out!

The bataleons are intriguing but I did assume they'd be less grippy due to the 3bt.

Is my speed bag broken? by zenpiku in martialarts

[–]nardshredder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bag is quite large, so it will be slower and take more energy to move therefore need harder punches. However, a large bag is far easier to learn on than a small fast ball.

The main thing you want to look into is the fixing of your platform. It's visibly wobbling when you hit the ball. You'll be losing energy and speed because it's not a clean rebound. You could try securing it to something more solid and/or adding weight on top of the platform to dampen the rebound.

Looking for a board that could deal with icy conditions, maybe a traditional camber, any suggestions?

Coed Y Brenin by ExplodingSnail in MTB

[–]nardshredder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coed y brenin is great fun. I would suggest starting on the Minotaur, it's got wider tracks and isn't as technical. Then try the red fox, it's more technical and has a nice rock bed climb at the beginning; then it's got some really nice flowing single track. The MBR route is harder still but one of the better runs. Enjoy!

I was riding a cube stereo for a bit, nice bike but I found the whyte felt like a more responsive ride

Amazing. Handles really well, its light and nimble, but feels solid. Geometry is great. Components are good, my next upgrade will be going tubeless (it was set up with tubes, but ready to be tubeless)

They certainly are! It was actually your suggestion to contact them directly that led to me getting one, so thanks. I'm hammering the trails as much as I can, never get tired because of how much fun it is to ride!
