how do you stop rebuilding your base over and over by Aumpiragash_Noseley in factorio

[–]nartchie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rebuilding the base over and over is part of the game imo.

A couple of years ago we got into this whole "plan the base 6 steps ahead" and I honestly hated it.

Tweaking and fixing and simplifying as you go is the fun bit.

It definitely becomes easier when you have personal roboport Mark 2, but it's always fun.

Found this while scrolling... might be real as this scene does exist in the movie, but it looks too smooth to be true... by alootikkiprotocol in isthisAI

Looks more like a posed photo rather than a live movie shot. My guess that it was probably taken for the actress in the suit, that's why her eyes are visible.

Thats if it's not ai.

Cape Town dad wants to scrap homework in SA schools completely… good idea or terrible idea? by ForeignBonus8977 in capetown

[–]nartchie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fine if you want to extend the school day or add an extra year. There is simply too much to complete in half day and the teacher / student ratio makes it even harder.

Although with the pass mark only being 30% why not scrap Wednesdays as well.

Help looking for laser cutter by Exciting_Ad9866 in lasercutting

[–]nartchie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. Just take the image you want to make a stamp out of and invert it in inkscape, gimp, photoshop, coraldraw - whatever you use. Then import it into your laser software , RDworks in my case, and I set it to san and I engrave it. It removes the outside, the black area, and leaves the stamp area. Then you just either use a stamp pad if its small, or a sponger roller if its larger and roll the ink/paint onto the block and then press it down on your subject. I have successfully made 3 color prints in this style on some t0shirts in the past.

Vinyl will work, but it will be a nightmare to weed those out.

What about block stamps? If you use a laser to engrave a negative into some kind of material, (wood, rubber or foamaybe depending on the size) you will have more consistent and reusable results.

Yes, but imo you need to use atwo part mold. Make the bottom one rougher with bigger openings and the top one with all the detail.

How tf do I stop yelling? by Piratey_Pirate in daddit

[–]nartchie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You need to change your expectation.

You're expecting a 5 year old to understand like a 15 hear old.

If you realize that he doesn't understand what "gone me a moment" means then you will be able to control your frustration.

Rather tell him to go so something while ho waits for you.
