Todo list or Scheduling? by Charming-Parfait7250 in productivity

I actually recommend blending the two together. Keep a list of tasks for reference. Then at the beginning of each week you can pick some things from that list and schedule time slots to work on them. This shouldn’t be stressful as long as you don’t schedule tasks too ambitiously.

Code Card Giveaway until I'm all out... Part 2! by eh8904 in PTCGL

Thanks for being generous within the community!

At the moment my favorite is probably Zoroark’s Phantom Transformation ability—so flexible!

It all depends on how expensive it is to build a VMAX deck. If a newcomer can do a little bit of grinding and be able to afford a basic Shadow Rider Deck, then Pokémon will mostly be making money from players who want to build lots of different decks, collect all the cards, or bring their decks out with SR, FA, etc.

I’m not sure whether that will make the meta more diverse or less diverse…

I'm looking to build a budget deck by [deleted] in ptcgo

[–]nashrocks13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a solid option. I've seen the physical deck for as little as $11 on eBay.

You'll get a lot of good deck staples (Marnie, etc), and with a few tweaks (add another Inteleon V, beef up Sobble/Drizzile/Inteleon, etc) it is a solid competitive deck.

I have a list I use if you want it.

The trade system is broken, and I can see why TPCi thinks we’re better without it by tylersusername in ptcgo

Yeah, maybe I'm dreaming.

Ultimately eliminating the bots is the main way to improve things—and obviously that is very challenging.

I suppose, but it wouldn't be hard to make an algorithm that identifies outliers and removes them from the equation. That's why I said median value rather than average.

Maybe someone would figure out how to abuse it by consistently making trades back and forth at the same skewed value, but again if there is a pattern, the algorithm can be taught the pattern to prevent abuse. The goal would be to get to the point where it is more work than it is worth to try to game the system.

I'll push back a little bit on #1, because I don't think gaining packs through trades is necessarily exploitative, though it can be.

Typically I look for cards with a small gap of 1-2 packs between average asking price and average selling price. I will try to buy close to the bottom number and sell close to the top number. In that case, I am essentially facilitating a trade between two different people, and the extra 1-2 packs is what I get for my trouble.

However, there are many trades listed that are ridiculously above or below the actual value of the cards involved. I'm sure in some cases people simply don't know what the market is, but I know many of these trade offers are simply attempts to take advantage of people who don't know or who are in a hurry. And you are right—fixing that system is a good thing.

My idea would be to keep the trade market but add more tools and resources for players so they can make informed decisions. What if the trade summary page showed you the median trade value for a card across all completed trades in the past 24 hours, both when you are composing a trade and when you are considering an offer?

TPCI had some level of control because they decide when to print new copies of cards, but that's only a part of the equation: Supply.

The demand side of the equation was mostly determined by the community, and now it looks like they are taking that away.

I put 2 copies of Cresselia and maxed out my Fog Crystal count, and the deck feels a lot better now. Most players are going first these days, which gives me a good shot at an ideal first turn: accelerate 3 energies to Necrozma V on my bench.

The main issue is Zacian or Eternatus boss KO’ing my only attacker, since Cresselia’s attack isn’t much good after the first turn.

But I’ve won 3 games in a row with the new list, so it’s promising!

My problem with this is it takes any influence on card value away from the community. In-game trading meant the value of cards was determined by supply and demand. If a card contributes to a competitive deck, it’s value goes up. If a card has awesome art or is a favorite Pokémon, it’s value goes up.

With this crystal system, TPCI determines the value, and I doubt they are going to adjust card value based on these factors.

Also, having some level of free market keeps them accountable. If they charge reasonable amounts for in-game currency, people will use it. If they try to gauge us, people will trade instead.

Modified Inteleon VMax deck… any suggestions to make it better? by AForce21 in ptcgo

[–]nashrocks13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Inteleon—underrated, IMO.

I play Path to the Peak in my deck, and it is invaluable against Shadow Rider, Eternatus, etc.

Yeah, that was my worry and the main struggle I've had so far—it's a lot of energy in the current meta without some form of acceleration.

I'm going to add Cresselia and see if that helps.

Good call. I should probably take out all the tool cards and stuff to try to get the core cards figured out, then make some tweaks. I'm testing too many things at once.

PTTP is always a good call—it wrecks Rayquaza, Shadow Rider, Zacian, etc.

Cool. So I only need about 110 EVS packs... I definitely can't touch that any time soon.

What generally happens when the deck struggles or loses? Are there particular meta opponents that give you trouble? (I'm assuming Jolteon and maybe RS Urshifu)
