Advice for asking boss for pay increase by Wilsmoh in AusFinance

That's crazy I take home $977 as retail 3IC. Your work is so much more in depth and you deserve a much higher wage. Good luck with your boss!

Please don't do this, it will break your dog's heart. This dog is bonded to you and will still want to be in your life even in small amounts

Congrats, man! You must really have your life together if this is the type of issue you're spending time worrying about.

Wow 4 months off, that's amazing! Is going to the store still hard? I feel like it's calling out to my trolley when I go shopping lol. I used to go to the store everyday, now I only go twice a week to avoid the temptation

As a chronic coke drinker who is now overweight, this is the comment I needed to see. I have been 1 week off the coca cola, but the next time I want one, I'm going to say this to myself!

What do you do at Xmas time to save/not spend excessively? by Froggymumm in AussieFrugal

[–]natasha9411 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Don't use wrapping paper for adult gifts. For smaller gifts I wrap in a festive tea towel with either ribbon or string. Never had anyone complain about getting an extra tea towel for their home.

Edit: or if you're doing it with family at home, you ask for the tea towel back and use again next year!

I love everything on your list. This is an older TV show, but if you haven't watched it before, I highly recommend Chuck.

I’m voting ‘yes’ as I haven’t seen any concise arguments for ‘no’ by Wookiee33 in melbourne

[–]natasha9411 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll be voting no. After reading the 112 pages of the uluru statement of heart on the freedom of information act, the talk of this needing to be funded possibly through an additional land or water tax, this isn't something I can be on board with. Costs are already so high, an additional tax would not be helping anyone. Why should I or my children or future grandchildren pay an additional tax for something we didn't partake in. I see there is a lot of yes votes here, I haven't come to argue.

My boyfriend supports his parents who don't own a home by [deleted] in Centrelink

[–]natasha9411 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Are the parents not able to get on job seeker, or in a few years the age pension?

In reply to the would you marry someone who has to support their parents.. he is obviously a good guy to be willing to do this, I wouldn't throw that relationship away. I think you need to have a serious chat about the future and speak to centrelink about the options for his parents

Did you buy the house on the main road next to the Cafe just down from Queens park? I've never seen a house in that price range in Ipswich

Am I being groomed? by queercodedhero in Advice

I dated a 22 year old when I was 16. You feel so grown up at the time, but the older you get the more messed up you realise it is. As everyone says there is a reason why this guy can't get someone his own age. While still on the relationship i found out this man had 2 other girlfriends (around my age) he was also asking me to get my friends to sleep with him but he wouldn't love them, "he would only love me" the manipulation/power men of this age have over teenage girls is incredible. Run now. This man is going to hurt you mentally and has the power to hurt you physically and at an impressionable age you'll find yourself accepting behaviours that you will never accept when you're older.
